Found this very interesting in my latest issue of the IAME mag.
NSW Maritime, the Transport Construction Authority and the Country Rail Infrastructure Authority will also cease to exist and their functions will be absorbed by the new integrated transport authority - to be called Transport for NSW.
Transport for N.S.W will be responsible for the coordinated delivery of transport services across all modes, and a renewed focus on the customer. It will see policy and planning experts from all transport agencies working together in the one location, eliminating duplication and ensuring they no longer work in silos.
Mr Gay said a new body to be called N.S.W Roads and Maritime Services would build and maintain roads, conduct driving tests, issue licenses and registrations, and oversee harbors and waterways.
With strategy and policy work now taken care of by Transport of N.S.W, the task of making sure motorists can get from point A to point B quickly and safely is right in focus.
The Transport for N.S.W divisions are:
Customer Experience - which will make sure journeys are as simple and seamless as possible
Planning and Programs - which will consolidate planning for all modes and develop a comprehensive transport master plan
Transport Services - which will ensure transport services cost effectively meet the current and future needs of customers
Transport Projects - which will ensure major projects are delivered on time and on budget

If it's not a Symptom its not relevant, and if its not relevant I don't care!
The idea is good... gonna have to wait and see if they can do a better job than labor with the execution
Same shit different name really.
Great all this means for me is if I need another license class I'm sure I will have to do yet another knowledge test....what pisses me off the most is I'm 31 year old I have been driving bdoubles for 10 years and riding dirt bikes all my life and just recently got my p plates for a motorcycle license and every class of license I have had to pass a knowledge test.... You would think that there would be a point in my life were the rta is convinced I know what lane to drive in and what the sign with stop on it means.... And why is it that it takes a 19 year old kid 3 years to get his bdoubles license and 3 years to get a full motorcycle license
Yep same shit different name, they'll just waste a lazy few million on rebranding and bullshit but we will see no improvements.
Be nice if it worked... it won't of course.

When I light the nitro on my HQ 454 Monroe!
Don't be so negative - it's basically the same in QLD. The benefit is that if you turn up in person, there is a ticket machine that gives a number so far from the one currently displayed you may as well file for your pension while waiting. The room is full of probably 200 people who are all frustrated and most are in the wrong lines incresasing waiting times.
There are multiple areas to be served in but no one seems to specialize so the knowledge base is erroded. Smple questions have to be referred to multiple people with no resolution.
Phone service is even better - if you can get in contact with a human who knows something.
It's all fun, saves on employment and increases the amount of non-productive time that people spend waiting or on the phone.
Out of touch ideas from out of touch people, they are battling to get it right with specialised groups, how will they focus with one governing body.
Sadly it will probably mean the loss of 1000's of government jobs.
Everyone who works at the rta atm should get the sack
Im pretty sure you have to do a course of being a total asshole to customers to join the rta
