Im kind of between the two. I borrowed some money to get my car, but it wasnt a secured loan so the bank has no rights on my car. And not all of the money I borrowed went to my car either, some went towards the car and some went towards other things.
So technically I own my car outright. But yes I do owe money to the bank.

I own all my cars and houses but a friend of mine has a salary sacrifice from EQ Gov ( he is a HPE teacher). He did not do the whole car but I heard that you are forced to upgrade to years after on another sacrifice but EQ chips in a certain percentage of what you paid last time.

    Own outright, only cost $500.

I've always been of the mentality if you can't afford to buy it outright don't buy it. Only exception would be house.

I agree. Only debt I have is a mortgage, don't even have a credit card. I own all my cars outright, never even thought about getting finance for a car.

outright all the way. its one of the reasons why i bought my vp calais back from shannons for $200, and pocketed $4400. its going back on the road as soon as the paint cures... the only money i owe is on the mortgage...

I've borrowed money for a car a couple of times,Never again. The last time was about 9 years ago.
Only time I would borrow money from a bank is for a house or to buy a business.
