Hey,
I'm just about to move into my new place and my boss (read "fiancee") has informed me that I will be doing the landscaping as soon as we move in.
So, I'm hunting for the best price on redgum 200x50x2400 sleepers.
The best price I've found so far has been $19.50 each.
Anyone know of somewhere that does them any cheaper?
I'm going to need at least 35 and upto 57 depending on what I actually decided I'm doing.
Cheers,
Don't have a clue mate... But I think I know what you're thinkingand if I'm right, I LOVE that look for a front "fence".
lol, fair enough. But i'm just doing the back.
The front landscaping was already done for us by the builder, grass, peddle garden, couple plans and irrigation system.
But the back yard on the other hand... well, lets just say that after doing a quick walk around you leave about 3 inches taller due to all the mud stuck to your shoes! lol.
So I have to get onto the backyard asap otherwise it will be unusable and I want to use my kick arse BBQ this summer.
Yeah landscaping is always a rip off to have as inclusion when anyone with a bit of nous can usually do a better job, and get exactly what they want, themselves. Just takes a bit of hard work and is a pita until you have it. Having a nice new house without landscaping sucks balls!
speak to the people who do railway sleeper change overs.
i have no idea how much we paid for them, but they are still great.
looks the part and im pretty sure they are cheaper then the ones from bunnings or whatever
but one thing they are so bloody heavy!
make your front fence out of it (fences like this where i am) and if any moron tries drifing up your street. atleast you know their car will come off second best =P
also just a footnote. if you do buy them new make sure they are ok for inground use. (cant remember ratings off top of my head) otherwise it could rot pretty easily.
Should have come down the Geelong way about a month ago, They were re-doing the train line and the old ones were everywhere.
My uncle and I got about 300 of them. Although these were the old one's, but still would look good for a fence![]()
I reject your reality and substitute my own.
yeah they do look great as a fence.
and i got a price on them. old man said they were $7 ea buying them from those railway sleeper guys (they did the hard yards getting them to our place).
although i guess you could always just take them but witht he weight and so forth you probably would want to have a truck as a trailer would full up pretty quick. and your fuel consumption would go hugely high in the clubby=P
