So whether they are sober or pissed as a fart it shouldn't matter they shouldn't be anywhere near the roads either way.
what about cars pulling out of drive ways... what about intersections... most road bikes will go 35 40km on the flat and around 80km down a decent hill

It's also illegal to ride your bike on the footpath. It's never ending.

I would pay to see a cyclist get cleaned up doing 80ks down a decent hill by a car reversing out a drive way...Problem?

There are 2 sepatare 'drink driving' offences. 1 is driving over 0.05 (PCA - prescribed concentration of alcohol)) and the other driving when physically intoxicated (DUI - driving under the influence).

PCA can be committed in any MOTOR vehicle, ie car, motorbike, go-kart etc and it is when you are over 0.05 grams of alcohol per 210 litres of breath.

DUI is in any MOTOR vehicle and also just a VEHICLE and is when you are physically intoxicated, ie visually drunk. The lawful term is when you are showing faculity imparements. These can be slurred voice, swaying when standing, stumbling when walking etc etc. This is not just alcohol, it is any drug.

A VEHICLE is defined by law as including a push bike and also a horse. So you can ride a push bike with any concentration of alcohol you want (PCA) you just cant be physically impared (DUI) to the point that you do not have effective control of the vehicle. Being pinched DUI on a pushbike does not affect your car licence.

    South Australian Law

    DUI - ROAD TRAFFIC ACT 1961 - SECT 47

    PCA - ROAD TRAFFIC ACT 1961 - SECT 47B

    Hope this helps.

Whats the stopping distance on a pushbike at 80kmh? If you are stupid enough to do it, pay the price.

See the kid with the skateboard in my avatar? Sure its possible.. but is it a smart thing to do ?

It was a pretty serious hill, I guess it would depend on what pulled out in front of me, at the time 16 no fear, no worries about something pulling out in front fairly straight road no side streets looking back on it i would hate to have a tire go on me I had a pair of brake pads let go once, the sound of the steel backings digging into the $400 alloy rear wheel was horrible.

If you cant outrun a police car on your pushy down some side streets etc.. Then you deserve to get fined lol.
I reject your reality and substitute my own.
