Not sure a 5% discount or something is going to make up for a 538% mark up...

True but it just goes to show they don't give a rats arse about what they sell, they just want your money.

The Holden dealer I worked for did give certain car clubs a discount, not sure how much is was or how they chose which clubs qualified.
From a business' perspective, what do they have to gain by giving you discounted parts?? Its not like a local car club is going to give much back in terms of advertising (and if your a Holden club then your already partly advertising them anyway) and as someone said above, if your gonna buy something from the dealer your gonna buy it anyway so they wouldn't increase their sales much.
Depends how many clubs hit them up for sponsorship. Generally to be considered you have to be a registered club with a current constitution and present your proposal professionally for consideration. Usually they want minutes showing the proposal to approach XYZ Holden Dealership etc.
Some guy wandering in off the street asking for discounts for his "club" is probably going to be told to bugger off.
