Nah it's just no-one wants a ford lol.
The reason people steal excels is cos u can break into them with a spoon. My younger sister had one and she showed me how. Haha!!
Someone once told me that small 4 cylinder cars get stolen because some thieves are so young, they can't reach the pedals on bigger cars. So Excels may be stolen by younger thieves - which makes sense I guess.
no actually if i want to go slow i stick to the left, those people piss me off too. hoons are the ########s who like to do burn outs and donuts while other drivers are around, as far as im concerned if people want to go out and do that shit go somewhere where other people arent going to be driving like up in darwin we had TDZ, the elizebath bridge, old stuart hwy and the old runway, TDZ was where we all went to have fun and race and when trucks came we got off the road (obviously) to let them past. alot of younge people have holdens and most younge people are hoons because they want to show off and feel big, i guess you could say male ego comes in to that but chicks do it too. the ones that have a BRAIN in their heads dont drive around like ########s. and i dont think just because your car kinda looks like a hoons car or its nicely done up that your a hoon. i want to do my car up but i dont drive it like a dick, and iv met a few people who do theirs up and dont drive like dicks awell.
i had comprehensive insurance with shannons for my vp calais last year and it was $580 a year. just rang up and insured my vp berlina on thursday, was $850. no mods just stock... i was wondering why the prices went up....

Yes I know, if you get anymore manly you are in danger of making yourself pregnant!
Car thieves spread info amongst themselves, whether they be joy riders or stealing them for other purposes. The "bubble style" Excel were popular amongst thieves because they were easy to enter via the boot / hatch, and had very weak steering lock mechanisms easily broken by one person. That's why the majority are stolen using the same methods just like any other vehicle. Rarely do you see someone who actually knows what they are doing and can go around bascially knocking off anything they like. Mechanic rumour is wrong btw.
That's because commodores are the most easiest cars to steal anyway, a 5 year old can break into a commodore lol
I'm a girl... I'm blonde... But I drive a really nice car
Not everyone wants to take their cars to the track. If I did my VL up, sure I'd want to take it to the track maybe once or twice to meet like minded people and see cars etc but I wouldn't care if it never saw a track day. Heaps of show cars never see the track but are off tits with mods etc, though I think they need to replace the word "hoon" with "d-ckhead" so we can add everyone into a majority.

I wasn't having a go at anyone or anything, your just more likely to come across a "hoon" (who came up with hoon anyway?) in a Commodore than in a Camry. You'll find a d1ckhead in just about anything though.
commodore drivers are thieves.
whats hard to comprehend about that?![]()
No a Commodore driver that zips past you gets into your lane then turns off is called a hoon. A Camry driver who does the same is in a hurry.

I bought my vp hsv enhanced calais in 2004, and drove it as a daily for 5 years. First thing I did was get an aftermarket immobiliser and alarm installed, sensors (shock and tilt) + piezo sirens in boot and cabin. From factory, its almost identical in appearance to a vp clubsport and pretty loud so I figured it would be a prudent move.
For three of those years I was doing postgrad engineering, so I drove it to wollongong university and parked it in the side streets (not the most desirable areas either).
I had two break in attempts in that time - someone tried to force the bootlock and failed (they got the boot open and probably copped an instant headache from the piezo), and I nearly caught some scum bag at the Officeworks opposite Wollongong High trying to break in. He took off after I lobbed a 10 pack of cd's at him (I think thats what I threw, I had my hands full of stuff). I heard the alarm go off when I was finishing up at the checkout.
Not too bad I reckon, but I still gotta get the damn boot lock fixed, its been 6 years now hehe.
there is a program called ..operation bounceback run by car safe..for any car made before 2000.... i got a free voucher to supply and fit a immobiliser by local autosparky business (mongoose m40) for my series 1 vs ute from newcastle city council and most councils in aus have the vouchers
how did you get that? are they in every state?
yes every state and territory, try your local council to see if they got immobilise now vouchers .i herd the add on the radio and then check out ncc web site,
