Poor old VP the most stolen car in Australia lol
I just put a full set of anti theft guide rails in all 4 doors and anti theft plates in front doors, also a anti theft plate on the ignition of my VH. But it ain't gona stop a brick now is it. But at least they will have a heck of trouble on the ignition side. TOUCH WOOD
Not surprising in the least. Commodores are common and usually the thieves are stuck driving falcons.
Welcome to the internet where people have opinions that you might not like
The only reason older commodores dont make the list anymore is they stole them all :P

When I light the nitro on my HQ 454 Monroe!
well mines a 2004 vy so im obviously safe... should show this to the insurance company when i got to renew it and tell them i want cheaper insurance cause my car isnt in the top ten
pretty surprised no falcons are on that list, there almost as common as commodores and they would be better for thrashing then an excel, what the hell would you even do with a stolen excel, drive up and down the main street pumping the six by nines? makes no sense
Excels are in the list because apparently they only made a few different sets of keys for the old bubble style ones, back in the days of production that is. So basically if you had a key for one you had a 1 in 50odd chance of being able to unlock another one no troubles. Also... its a hyundai what more do you expect :P
Mechanic rumours ftw![]()
its because most theives go for holden and theres always one around, 80%holden drivers are hoons where maybe 70 or 80%falcon drivers have respect for other drivers on the road. they should steal more excels and set fire to them, god i hate those things.
Way different to nz list.

Gotta love rebranding, mostly all the same cars we have I assume, but with different names?
Never heard of Nissan Cefiro, Presea or Elgrand never heard of Mitsubishi Libero or Honda Torneo. Good (??) to see the good old Datsun Sunny still exists lol.. I doubt it looks like the old version from the 70s though
Interesting no-one thinks Fords are worth stealing in either country...
Interesting statistics, I'd love to see the reportNever really considered myself a hoon.. I prefer 'enthusiast'.
Also interested in the connection between theft and hoons cars.. you think people who steal cars are all hoons? Its a big business, not confined to joyriders.
What are theives?
Most of them are jap imports. Nz new are branded the same. Post updated to reflect what you know.
Up until late 90s commodores were high on nz list. Don't see many old commodores here now. Even vs's aren't that common.
Stolen for parts is big business but a large amount are for joy riding. ESP turbo rwds
