    Default Just a reminder.....

Man dies in fiery car crash | News.com.au

Happened about 3 minutes from my house, saw the Fire Brigades and cop cars scream past me on the way home.

Had to be speeding because Power Road is 50k and 1 lane all the way. I have no sympathy for the person, but I do feel for his family, mates, missus if he had one.
    Such a waste of life....

Isn't remembrance day pretty morbid itself? Remembering the millions of lives lost at war?

The police media report suggests overtaking and loss of control, way too many heroes on the streets these days.

Too many people out there with a deathwish. I had a guy overtake me on a busy industrial rd 70km/h zone on Wednesday night when I was doing the speed limit. I saw him coming miles back doing well over 100km/h and just as he was shaping up to swerve around me there was a guy in a driveway up ahead about to pull out doing a right hand turn. This dude would have been cleaned up for sure Ive flashed my lights at him and he stopped just as this d/head has gone on the wrong side of the road to fly past me. Needless to say I sh!t bricks as did the guy who nearly pulled out

Really? I cant remember seeing much residential drifting going on when I was growing up, time and place, something so many idiots these days do not understand.

Actually your VN Shitta description fits most of those heroes cars, not one of the heroes are you?

I often think twice before planting my foot. I turn the music up and chill, better to get home than not at all.

Got to agree with those sentiments. Never understood why car "enthusiasts" put all the effort into improving their ride, just so they can travel at dangerous speeds/in a dangerous manner. Odds are you won't get where you are going any quicker and you will probably experience some type of road rage cos some "idiot" travelling at speed limit "got in your way".

My approach is to stick to the speed limits, ENJOY driving your vehicle and get to your destination when you do. Afterall, I have no doubt we invest in our vehicles so that the time we spend in them is more enjoyable, not to spend less time in them.

Nice stereotype man, care to call all black men criminals as well? Been driving for more than 10 years, never lost my license and rating 1 insurance with shannons. And that VN shitta is a 525hp shitta insured for more than triple market value now and I drove it with 400hp my whole P's. Band wagon jumping fools like yourself are the reason we can't fart without a permit these days. What I don't understand is why some car enthusiasts would wanna shit in there own bed and feed fuel to the anti hoon media and public opinion fire with this holier than though crap of posting news articles and then acting all superior.

A good saying I was taught at a young age is "a rolling stone gathers no moss", the point that I was told being that don't pick on anyone when you're not perfect yourself. All of these media personal, bleeding heart activists and over zealous law enforcers and politicians I'm sure have been guilty of other statistically proven hazards such as bald tyres, drink driving, failing to indicate, tail lights out etc at some point. Yet we enthusiasts have to endure the spotlight constantly put on us and be extra cautious as it is meanwhile I come on a car forum and see people constantly harping on about how bad we all are. How about someone shed some good light like all the money raised for charity at car cruises etc? But no, that doesn't generate as much interest as picking on someone who ####ed up and getting out the tar brush.

    End rant

Drifting wasn't popular back in the day bit illegal drags and burnouts, even those with flammable catalysts were common. Hooning hasn't increased, population has and so have suburban areas.

I'm assuming you've never lost a best mate on the roads, the same with other people here.

Ah well, maybe one day you'll feel the pain......

Because sometimes losing someone you care about because they were being a 'hero' on the road can destroy another person's life because they have to live with said loss...........

    Just saying.....
