My old man used to strip down and rebuild mowers for extra cash on the side. My old neighbor used to salvage them for him from the local dump and one day he bought home an old Victa 18 Special.

He stripped it fully, got it running like a dream and resprayed it in as close to the original factory colour as possible. It looked nearly brand new! The only thing it was missing was the original hubcaps and center emblem. It sold at a charity auction for about 600 bucks to a guy who knew exactly what it was. I'm pretty sure the old ma still has a Victa 18 base under the house.

I'll stick with the one my old man rebuilt that was dumped on a job site. Cost him 25 bucks in parts and about 3 hours labour and the thing starts first time every time.
