hey guys I've recently sold my commodore, I want a 4x4 and my budget is 25,000
only 4x4's i would consider buying is a Toyota or Holden
I'm looking at buying this rodeo what do you's think ?
2007 HOLDEN RODEO LX RA MY08 Private Cars For Sale in QLD - carsales.com.au
lol i've got an old '92 rodeo it just runs forever, about 420k kms on it and still goes strong, good ol' Isuzu engines.
It looks pretty nice dude =D
yeah I want a Hilux but cant find any good ones for under 25,000
but this rodeo has good extras, bullbar, side rails, steps, mags, custom tray, 4x4
shit i think i just conviced myself to buy it
i used to have one of them although it was a 2004 model petrol got rid of it at 45000ks (normally i keep mine till they have at least about 150000on them) due to it being heavy on fuel and it used a lot of oil among a list of other things.
based on my experience i would probably get a toyota if i wanted a 4wd ute
Agreed can tell you from experience after having several of them that the rodeos are generally a pain the goddamn ass and are generally more trouble than they are worth. Just petrol guzzing, gutless heaps imo. Can never go wrong with a Hilux. The bastards just about go forever and 25k should get you a pretty decent one![]()
We have had a few of those 3.0L Turbo Diesel Rodeos come in to work with the management light on. All of them had a problem with the EGR Valve. But none of the scan tools could pick up on it, ended up taking them to a Holden Dealer around the corner.
And by the way, all of them were fleet vehicles leased out to Reece Plumbing and they ranged from 2006 to 2008
I have heard the 07 rodeo are very very hevy on petrol and under powerd.

I'll be he comes to get you, some shopping trolley kind of thing, that gets you where your going nice and slow... Well off you go that's fine, the pleasure's all mine.
When I light the nitro on my HQ 454 Monroe!
We had one of these as a work ute up in the Pilbara.
The POS nearly fell to bits on the dirt roads, and was gutless as well. Gear shift in them is sloppy as too.
It got replaced with a Navara which was 10 times better.
Why not go for the BT-50/ Ford Ranger, range. The 4x4 dual cab models start of 17,000 so you should be able to pick up a mint one for the budget you have.
the previous work cars were 2 06 hilux diesels 3L, biggest pos i have ever driven and the build quality was rubbish.
it was in the shop atleast once a week for repairs to anything it could find (mainly wheel bearings and cv,s and timing problems) and worst part was they were treated with respect.
they are uncomfortable to sit in the suspension is stiff and it doesnt seem to absorb any bumps, just passes them onto your back. it doesnt know when to change up or down a gear and its a slug.
we now have new 2011 models with an alloy tray, and they are even worse.
we had a navara for a week and it was much more responsive and gave the illusion of being faster with its smaller motor but it was only the fact that it was shorter geared. still uncomfortable though.
i and everybody at work that drives them (about 20 of us) will all tell you to stay WELL clear of a modern day hilux.
I wouldn't mind a 2010 Holden Colorado LT-R Dual Cab. I love the look of them and they don't go too bad. I know that they are similar to the Rodeo but I like the look of the Colorado heaps better then the Rodeo.

If you want a rodeo, get a 2.8 ltr diesel one. They're older but much more reliable than the later models, the one i had was bulletproof and never gave me any troubles.
Whatever you choose, don't get a petrol. Petrols may have power but they suck more juice than paris hilton. 4x4 petrols are all pigs on fuel, regardless of the badge on the front.
yea im def going to buy a diesel ima diesel fitter lol
having second thoughts now might look around abit more
For the money you're spending you could get into a dmax. I had one for a couple of days when i was deciding what to buy and was very impressed with it.
