A mate of mine in the Vic police told me that the police motorbikes (scooter pigs as they're known in the force lol) cost more than a fully decked out SS or XR6T highway patrol car.

The cost difference between these cars and the standard SS would be so minimal since its all the cop gear that adds to the cost. And the tiny extra cost of the car would be made up when the car's auctioned off anyway so its not worth getting angry over.

Besides these flashy high powered models are more about being a deterrent and showing a presence to drivers than catching people speeding. We all know when there's a visible presence on the road like during the holiday period everyone slows down and thinks twice about that extra pint at the pub. If they wanted to be stealthy and fine a heap of people I think they would decide against the yellow paint and big flashing lights on the roof
not being smart, but just wanna know honestly, ss n xr6 t decked out would be least 50 grand right? how the hell does a bike cost that much lol? i briefly know harleys are worth that roughly
Vs eco 3.8, extractors, 2.75" exhaust, roller rockers, cammed, bored out 20, t5 manual, rolling on king springs all way round with monroe gt shocks all way round, every door has a ding but looks can be very deceaving

In Victoria, the Police motorbikes are BMW 1200RT-P's. The P is for Police Pack, which I have no idea what's included over and above the standard factory 1200RT that comes with Automatic Stability Control (ASC), Electronic Suspension Adjustment (ESA), Seat Heating, Tyre Pressure Control, Heated Grips, On Board Computer, Power Socket and Cruise Control. They then also have all the usual paraphernalia; sirens, lights, light on an electronic telescopic pole, radio, satnav, radar, other electronic gear and of course, Police livery.

Police would be lucky to be paying $30,000 for an SS Commodore and the BMW bikes retail for $33,000 or more on the road so they're fairly close.
