Finally got around to getting a blank standard holden one. $6.50. Bargin! Wrong.
Received it last week. Put it all together. Buttons were stiff as all hell, it would not press at all. Thought it would loosen up so i went to use the key in the door to unlock it. The screws that hold the key to the shell break out. So then im left with one ####ed key head. Had to use my spare for awhile. Contact the bloke and sends me out another one.. It has a chev emblem on it. Which, on the listing, is not what he is selling and not what im after.
Told him i would send it back and wanted a refund. Then the abusive emails start. So i thought i might pass on the seller
The item
Feedback i left
After feedback was left, abusive emails started to happen. Beware. Its cheap because its crap.

what do you expect for 6.50? obviously some cheap Chinese knock off
least you have spare parts now
I expected it to last longer then 1/4 of a key turn.. But live and learn. Least i have the opportunity to let other people know to steer clear of these ones.

As said on Boost. You broke one. He sent you another as a sign of good will. You still carry on like an idiot. I would tell you where to go to.
Welcome to the internet where people have opinions that you might not like
this much drama over $6.50? really?
why dont you take him court and demand you $6.50 back, court costs shouldnt be any more than a couple of grand.
Did the Chev one work? Sounds to me like you got unlucky the first time, hey it happens, then the guy made a mistake with the Chev one. Its $6.50, you probably could have afforded to wait and let him get it right next time. Storm in a teacup. Chill man, breatheeeee
Its a big problem in much of the aftermarket at the moment. You cant sell anything that's decent in quality because its too expensive and people bitch about the price. So you get in cheap and nasty Chindian junk to get the sale and people bitch about the quality.
I paid $90 for my keyhead, programed and put together for me and its good as gold 2 years on. If you saw one for $6.50 i cant blame you for giving it a go to save some coin but you cant complain if it turns out to be a piece of junk.
I believe the term "first world problems" comes to mind.

You have a right to be a bit annoyed if it is faulty but if he has sent you a replacement and the only drama is the logo is different then I'd say go to Bunnings and buy a 20Kg bag of concrete and harden up.
He can't be that bad to deal with being his feedback is 527 Positive to 3 Negative!

Yes I know, if you get anymore manly you are in danger of making yourself pregnant!
$6.50 is a cheap lesson learn t. As for the abusive emails, well there's always 2 sides to a story and without hearing his it's a bit hard to judge. How do we know you didn't start abusing him? after all he did send you a replacement so it does show he tried to make things right.
this is your fault not ours
Complaining about a $6.50 cheap imitation key head ... hmmmm theres a reason its $6.50
Warning about ebay buyer: friendlyone2010
They spent bugger all money on some dodgy Chinese knock off, break it, get another one for free and don't like it so they leave negative feedback!
Do not sell to this user. Just thought I'd share.
Cheers!![]()

Oh give the poor guy a break. I bought some cheapy key shells from another ebay seller, they had great feedback, I expected them to be okay despite the cheap price. I've bought heaps of car stuff off ebay at bargain prices before and never had an issue. Anyway turns out they were pieces of shit, they did not fit the key properly they were just rubbish. I cbf chasing the seller because I don't have time for it at the moment but its not too much to expect to get what you paid for even if you didn't pay too much. It was good he sent out a replacement but seriously chev stuff for holdens is the epitomy of gay, I'd be miffed too.
All this said I don't think it warrants a thread bashing the seller over a few bucks, just put in a paypal claim and get your $6 back and get over it.
The Chev one probably would have costed more as well, seeing as lots of Holdens run around with bowties lately.
If I was the seller, I'd purposely send you out a Chev one aswell just to shit you. Either that or I'd get a batch made up with Ford on them to send out to people that break the first.
Oh man, the way you're carrying on, anyone would think it was $650 not $6.50....Get over it.
I bought my new key for my VR from holden with remote for $130 fully programmed and have heard that the ebay ones are dodgy
We will provide you with fast and efficient service.
The item we are selling in this auction is: Commodore aftermarket 3 button remote key shell, these will suit the following commodore models: vs, vt, vx, vy, vz, wh, wk, wl. You will receive 2 new key shell halves (ie complete key shell module case), 2 x screws to secure the shell. (please note there is no key blade with this auction, if required they can be purchased from us in a separate auction). These key shells have been designed to fit the module with ease. Why pay $10 or more for buttons only?
To change your module from original shell to the new key shell you will have to do the following:
1. Using a star screw driver remove screws from original shell, and remove key blade.
2. Using a flat blade screw driver or knife, gently prise the old key shell apart so as not to damage the module unit.
3. Remove module unit ensuring the metal rod stays connected.
4. Insert module unit into bottom of the new key shell.
5. Place rubber grommet from original key shell into the new one gently.
6. Grab top piece of key shell and put into place. There is 2 lugs on the back where a key ring can be placed, ensure these are locked into place. For best results use lock-tight or something similar.
7. Hold key shell firmly and place your key blade into the front of the shell.
8. Place screws in holes and tighten firmly with a star screw driver. Do not over tighten the screws.
9. For best results use lock-tight to secure back of shell.
All done, we hope you enjoy your new key.
