Actually i have, and i still didn't like them lol
I have driven a different range of vehicles from Ricers, to both Holdens and Fords, trucks, Porsches, Ferraris, Alfa Romeo, 4WDrives, shitboxes, Chevy Silverado.
And i really didn't like the Ricers. Just way too uncomfortable, small and personally, they just did nothing for me at all.
Follow Your Dreams......RIP Brocky 1945 - 2006......May God Rest Your Soul
I'm a holden man through and through,
But i can appreciate a nice car no matter if its old school muscle or a ricer.
The amount of effort some guys put into the ricers is amazing, I personally wouldn't own one but you gotta give credit where credits due
Haha good reference for comparing apples
I just wanted the biggest v8 at the time, that i could aford and the VE SS was the right priced car for me.I did test drive a few XR8's but did'nt like them.

"90% of foreign tourists come from abroad." Only fools and horses
I dont have any preconceptions. I own a couple Commodores, a couple Kias, a VW beetle and a Chrysler Centura. My previous daily was an EL Fairmont.
I bought the Fairmont at the time because ELs are about the best value for money on the market.. the most bang for your buck in terms of comfort/features/power that you can buy at the price. For whatever reason, they just dont have a great resale value and can be picked up in pretty good nick cheap as chips.
When I wrote it off against a large furry animal with a 40KG tail, I chose a Commodore to replace it with. Another Ford would have been better value for money, but I wanted a Commodore for a change, so I was prepared to pay the price.
When buying the second Kia a couple months ago, I was looking at new cars valued at around the 20K mark. Although there are multiple candidates in this price range, I chose the Kia because it offered me more for my money.
Therefore, although several similar cars cost the same amount, one offered better value for money than the others. Of course cost is a factor. If the other cars were 2 grand cheaper, that would have made a difference.
The same thing applies for more expensive cars too. The price is part of the overall package, it has to make a difference. What you get for your money versus how much you pay = value for money. Even when they are the same price.
Personally, I'd be interested in looking at Great Walls and stuff like that too, if thats the type of car I was looking at. Car manufacturing has reached a level where no company makes truly bad cars, and an X240 at half the price of a Rav4 has a hell of a lot of good reasons to consider it.
No, they actually just changed the classification for each type of car. The V8 Supercars are just Holden and Ford but they have different cars in different classes as seen on the CAMS website http://www.cams.com.au/en/Sport/Disciplines/Race.aspx
But I agree, the old Group series were much more enjoyable to watch.
