    Default Ethusiasts aren't all HOONS!

Locals beg police to halt suburban bridal burnouts | Herald Sun

Bloody morons!!! It's morons like this, and those that think this is cool, that unfortunately mean all car enthusiasts are tarred with the same brush.

I'd pay to watch that guy's car get crushed in front of him!

Yep, it's idiots like these that cause the police to target every single modified car on the roads.

And I wouldn't like to see the car crushed. No need to destroy a nice car because some idiot got his hands on it.

Just take it away, sell it off and proceeds from the sale can go towards something useful.

Its a residential street. Some kid could run out and the muppet driver could take off without seeing them because of the smoke.

Someone in one of the houses may have a respiratory condition and the smoke could cause them issues.

Plus contrary to common opinion, you can screw up a burnout and plow into something. Jump on youtube, plenty of evidence there.

Just because some retard has a car capable of a burnout and does them, doesn't mean they actually have the skills to control the car properly.

This is the sort of attitude that needs to be adjusted.

Even the "professionals" can get it wrong too. Nobody's perfect.

    Best example I know of:

Now I don't blame Troy Critchley for this... Well I mostly don't blame him. The event organizers are mostly to blame. No safety barriers is a massive issue. Troy did have to option to say "there's no safety barriers so I won't take part in this while that risk is there". But instead, he no doubt thought along the same lines. I.e. "where is the potential for death?" And he arguably knows what he's doing a LOT more than Joe Bogan on the street. Like I said, the blame falls more with the organizers but Troy should have also acknowledged the risk was there and declined to take part.

The problem is while ever there are attitudes that "there is no risk of injury or death" there will always be a decent risk of injury or death. It's the child or person you don't see that ends up injured or dead. A suburban street is NO PLACE for burnouts or racing. Stick with abandoned car parks well away from anyone else if you must take part in such pointless activities, and race tracks!

Well there are burnouts and burnouts. The problem is the cops etc wish to label everything they don’t like as hoon driving. It keeps it easy for them, easy for their ad campaigns and easy for the people who can’t tell the difference.
The burnout in the wedding clip seemed to be done at a fairly slow speed. Certainly dangerous enough to hurt a pedestrian if control was lost but probably not particularly dangerous if he lost control.
The drag race clip is completely different. The cars was still doing a burnout but accelerating rapidly. Really no comparison. Only if one believes all burn outs are burn outs and everything other than commuting is hoon driving.
It is interesting that woman had a camera set up ready for this. Either this goes on regularly or she is a serial wowser.
As for the playground and kids, any kid who ran out in front of that was not in much more danger than running out in front of a car doing 50ks.
In the end nobody wants this in their street but I would rather the burn out than a drag race down the street or even a car driving at an unsafe speed.
Although this stuff needs to be kept for the track we need to rebuke this hoon driving crap we are fed and take the debate to a higher more intelligent level.

I blame the event organizers, and the driver. What retard agrees to drive a f-cking DRAG CAR on a normal road anyway? What did he think was going to happen.

    Clearly he didn't think?

I really don't think so. I was never harassed (by police) as a p-plater.

Whether it's safe or not safe is one thing but I sure as hell wouldn't want 2 big black tyre marks going past my house. Have some respect for others that live in your area and if you really have to do it then go do it out where no one can see it, that's my feelings on this and I know not every one will agree because there seems to be an attitude amongst some people that they believe the road is there to do as they wish.

Reminds me of the photos going around a few years back labeled as a typical wog wedding with the VL doing a burnout.

Today, I was reversing out of a carpark space at Subway, and this woman flies past me, doesn't even attempt to stop, so I slam my brakes on and she just misses me, then I continue reversing out, put my car into drive and look out my passenger window to see a 4X4 backed RIGHT up against my car with reverse lights on, who clearly wasn't looking. Twice in 2 seconds, I might aswell crash my own car because sooner or later someone else will

I've got no problem with people 'hooning' as the government puts it, but there is a time and a place, and suburban streets are neither. Fast cars and bikes are fun, but don't be silly

Lol at people going omg what happens if a kid runs out. If the little shit is stupid enough to run in front of a car while the car is in the process of a burnout they deserve to get hit.
