Okaaaay, have spent a bit of cash in the last week. #### it, been workin hard with no play so i decided that i'd go for a lego train setup, this is what i've bought so far.....

Model 7939 cargo train. I loved the look of the locomotive which is why i went for this set, plus it came with all the power functions!

model 10219 maersk train. I wanted a no bullshit freighter, so this is it! Also appealed to me because you can buy extra container cars to add on, this will be my long one once i add on extra cars! Have purchased a power pack with this one.

model 10194 emerald night. My all time favorite. I have always loved the flying scotsman in the HO trains and since this was modeled off the scotsman, it was a must have! Is currently over the pacific somewhere on it's way here from the states. Have also got a power functions pack coming complete with automotive lights!

model 7937 train station. Just a basic station to begin with. Infortunately there's not really a decent station available yet, unlike the "big red" station in the 9 volts. Hopefully they'll be rectifying this down the track but this'll do for now even if it's a bit small!

Money spent to date, around $1200. Lots more to come!

Joined eurobricks and came across this. Have downloaded the pdf file of instructions and registered on bricklink to start collecting the parts needed. Will be an awesome addition to the train yard! The guys that designed and built this have other excellent designs on their website. Crane is fully motorised using the 9 volt system.

Yeah I had all of them except for the new generation ones. I love that big ####ing shark thing. Although it wasnt very well built, youd have to hold it from either end, if you held it from the middle it would start to kinda...flex. Which was bad cause I had a brother that touched everything.

I don't mind the PF sets. The trains seem to run nicely on the tracks, however they're a bit more noisy than the older ones. I chose the newer stuff simply because the 9 volt gear is getting harder to come by.

Thought i'd update this thread, since i've gone a little silly since last time!
Decided to expand into the buildings for my layout. Unfortunately i have expensive and fussy taste when it comes to lego, and have settled on the modular buildings for the city area and some houses for the suburbs!

First, town hall. This was just released this year and isn't available in australia yet so i grabbed it from the states, is going to be pretty hard to find here as it's exclusive to david jones and won't be available in toyworld and the like.

Picked up the fire station next. Discontinued in 2009 but as luck would have it the local toyworld had one left, bonus!

Just ordered from the netherlands the pet shop and grand emporium, should be arriving next week.

    What's a city without a cop shop!

And, managed to get my hands on the big daddy, train maintenance shed! These go for around $600 but got a new one out of the states for $390 shipped! Will be definately buying more of these, 2 or 3 in a row would look awesome!

Here's some houses for the suburbs!

And lastly, my completed trains! Added 2 more cars to the maersk train!

And 2 more to the emerald night

Not sure where to go from here, mabye some lego help group or something!!

Haha, that may take a while, finding the space will be the issue!
At this stage just building the collection for assembly later on down the track.

I've motorised all my trains, as well as lighting at the front, looks awesome at night running around.
Yeah the emerald night is the jewel in the trains if you ask me. I have still sealed in the box, might sell it later on but can't seem to part with it! The santa fe is an awesome train too.

I've got the excavator, highly recommend it! I'll be modifying it too, got some instructions off a website for some suttle mods which makes it more functional.
The plan is to collect for now. I'll be building a new house out of town in a few years and i'll be putting a decent sized shed out the back with a man cave off to the side with bar, jukebox etc. and lots of lego!
