How is everyone else finding the other road users today?
Being a nice day I cruised from Ballarat to melb today, set the cruise control to 110 and enjoyed the drive with the family.
the amount of cars that screamed past me doing anywhere in the vacinity of 120 to 140 was astonishing. The people that creep past me doing 111 or 112 dont bother me, but the ####tards that scream past are just tempting fate. Its NYE police will be everywhere, yet theys still try their luck.

worst offender was a pretty nice looking white VX, P plater. polished, lowered, crome rims etc. and sporting very easy to remember custom number plates (hope its not a member)
I had just over taken another little car, still in the right hand lane, and the first I know of this VX is him screaming up behind me, darting into the laft lane the second he was past the car i had just over taken. His front end barely missed my rear bumper. As he screamed passed he was nice enough to flick his ciggy at my car, yelled some shit that I couldnt understand(because I dont speak ####wit) and gave me the bird as he flew up the highway. complete and utter ####tard.

Thus why my car is tucked away in the garage from about a week before Xmas till after NY.

This period of time is not only the "silly season" but the "down right dangerous season" too on the roads.

Having said that, the flicked cigarette would have cost the muppet his teeth depending on my mood at the time so I'm not really one to speak on the matter without a hint of hypocracy coming through.

Outside of that, the temptation to take it up with with this kind of moron is pretty big, but not with my wife and 4 year old in the car, bigger things to worry about.

I'm guessing if he had enough room to dart up beside you and overtake you, then yes, that is a more than "adequate" gap you have left in between you and the car you just overtook.
Next time pull over earlier if you see someone coming screaming up behind you.

i was on the hume highway today, and there was no way i was silly enough to speed, so i was minding my own business in the left lane, on 110, some fk wit in a pulsar with a cable tied front body kit came screaming past me, except his shitbox ran out of puff on the hill and i undertook, laughed as he floored it and sped down the otherside of the hill. waiting to see him pulled over so i could pollitly waive. but i dont think its just because of nye.

Just driving along, i knew there was a set of traffic lights about 1km or so ahead, anyway as i pulled up and the left light was green so went and i got yelled abuse from a guy in a AU falcon that was stopped in the lane to go straight. im like ? i have been no where near you until the moment i turned, i dunno some silly ones out there lol
And yes the people that drive 30kms under the speed limit should be fined also cause they are scared of speeding lol. I was sitting on 110 the other day, cop sat behind me for 20 secs, ran my details then moved out and in front into the next car lol its the speed limit you cant be booked for doing the correct thing lol

I understand what you are saying, I also like to leave a few car lengths before changing lanes after overtaking at 110. I can picture it now, you had barely passed the other car when when the impatient hoon darts between you and the other car with barely a few feet clearance between your rear bumper and the other car's front bumper, I see often, they just can't wait a few more seconds.
