    Default NSW Greenslips

Anyone else had theirs increase on them this year?

When I was younger, I was of the impression as you got older and providing you were a safe driver, things would become cheaper.

It seems the opposite now. Every year they increase insurance and greenslips because of "an increase in claims in your age bracket".

Perhaps I'm just having a bad day, but I'm tired of being squeezed for every cent by the government and businesses for my hard earned without just cause. Let's be honest, if they didn't have shareholders these increases would not be occurring. They're only occurring to regain their profit margins.

Seriously considering selling the old girl and getting a Corolla. Dirt cheap to insure and CTP.

/flamesuit on hand just in case.

Depends on your area before I left Sydney my ctp quote was 700 I changed my details to the country area I'm in now and my quote dropped to 525 city areas are at a higher risk to accidents and now that we have to pay a fee to cover the medicals for other peoples stupidity its getting beyond the joke also when they came out with comprehensive insurance they should have made it to automatically include ctp but it doesn't there just money hungry people lol

just another raping from the NSW government, both me and my father have WH's, ls1, lowered, wheels etc,

im 25 and my dad is 45

his is rego'd in NSW, mine in WA

he pays close to $1000 a year to get his car re rego'd
    mine is $513

i dont see how NSW justify almost double the cost!

We have to pay a mcis levy which covers medical expenses for the driver and passengers in the opposing car whether we have an accident or not in my opinion it's a load of bs

    no thanks bad idea
it would never work CTP and comprehensive insurance are 2 completely different things
and not everyone has comprehensive insurance so the ones that do their premiums would skyrocket to cover those that only have 3rd party or no insurance at all

best to leave it attached to rego payments

Well I've never been in an accident so I don't see why I should pay through the roof just to register my car then pay through the roof to cover my car if it is in an accident

Yeah getting a car insured and rego'd in the Western Suburbs of Sydney is extremely expensive compared to other states and rural/coastal areas. My rego and greenslip cost $1100 and my full comp insurance costs $1600 with my 65% no claim bonus and 29yo.

Sorry to rain on your parade torana355. My Greenslip costs $320.00 and my comprehensive insurance with windscreen cover and an agreed value of $22,500.00 costs $610.00. My actual registration is free as I'm a self funded retiree.

Heard on the radio that the government declined a larger increase in greenslips that the insurance companys were pushing for.

You live on the central coast, not the western suburbs of Sydney....
