money for accident??

G'day everyone,
recently (saturday) my car was reversed into and left a nice dent in the door and guard and ripped open the door, a small but noticeable gash haha,
now the lady come over and told me and owned up to it etc. said she would pay and to get her quotes.

so i wait till monday (opening the door from the passenger side inside, because it was the drivers door and cannot be opened from the outside) get her 3 quotes and take her them. When i give her them she tells me she has to sort herself and her problems out first and the car is still driveable so it can wait.

So i am left more-or-less carless because it is a defect if i get pulled over and looks like shit anyway and i hate climbing through my car every time.

What am i meant to do here??? do i wait it out and hope she comes up with the 1300 soon??

im only 17 and my rego is due in 1 month so me paying is out of the question.

please offer some advice guys.

if so just put it through your insurance

Bro...To be honest, I think she has done a runner...considering you don't have insurance and she doesn't I don't think shes going to cough up.

insurance wont pay :/ a runner? but i know where she lives and she is friends with a family friend, by the sounds of it there is nothing at all i can do but keep pestering her and hope for the money

Since she inconvenienced you, I would give her a date by which YOU want her to cough up the money. If not, first stop would be to go to the police.

Unfortunately, the only way you would be able to extract the money from her if she decides to be difficult is through the courts.

last year this guy ran up my arse, bent reo and cracked paint on the bar. He didnt have insurance and was being a completed ######## about paying up. After a long battle i read my insurance policy. I am covered up to 3k if someone hits me and doesn't have insurance.

So i told him when my insurance company calls him, tell them you dont have insurance and they will fix my car. This thing with us will be over.

2 weeks later my car was fixed. Then i get a message from him "You told me this thing will be over if i told them i didnt have insurance. What is this shit i got from your insurance company telling me i owe the $1000???"

I replied "Bend over because you're about to get ####ed!!"

Im also glad that my tow bar went through the front bar and radiator of his alfa.

But yeh your insurance company should cover you if the other party does not have insurance.

If she doesn't pay you will have to take her to the civil court to get a money settlement for the damages she caused.

But in all honesty how hard is it for someone to pay at least third party insurance to protect themselves from this.

I'm 19 and I pay $140 a month. $105 for comprehensive on my commy and $35 for third party on my barina.

I'm sorry to rant but this just shits me off it's simple get insurance or pay not rocket science.

I feel sorry for you mate your done the right thing and had insurance and I would let her know you reserved into the car cough up the money by ?? or it's going through the courts her choice.

Be direct I know it sounds harsh but she is only inconveniencing you she stuff up firstly by hitting your car and secondly by not having insurance.

Don't let her walk over you it's life she made the mistake she has to pay and learn from it.

3rd party property, learned my mistake when i hit someone first getting my P's and i took out a loan (from the bank of dad) and paid for it straight away, which is why i cant understand her stuffing me around, i would think most people would want it over with. and i knows its a VS. what if its a show car VS, obvisouly it isnt, and i can fix it myself but its not the point >.< why should i have to run around and fix it because of something she did?? its not like a set her up or anything like that, i was inside and my car was innocently parked haha
