red 202 idle problems

alrighr so my 202 wasnt getting fuel so i bypassed the fuel bowl etc and installed an external pump the engine runs really well but wont idle unless the choke is on but if the choke is on i cant drive it looses power help??

Wrong section mate, try the correct section (VB-VK)

Strombergs on most reds are pretty easy to tune. May need to buy a kit for it and install or find an old school carby expert.

Have you tried your mixture screw?

know what carby is on it?

is it from Hq and earlier or is it hj and later? The Hq and earlier have a mixture screw on the engine side of the carb, if it's later, there is a way to do it but you'll have to find someone that knows them like the back of theyre hand, or alternatively, chase up a pre Hq carb and fit, at least they're easier to tune

They had set mixtures on hj (74) onwards for the pollution gear on them
