Kind of came to mind when I saw some great thread digs haha, but what is the minimum duration (days, weeks, months, years, etc) on a post for it to have thread digging written all over it, if you were to post on the thread?
What's the generally accepted duration on the Just Commodores site?
Cheers![]()
honestly i don't give a shit how old it is ,just goes to show they used the search function an didn't make a new thread.
which more people need to do.
If the post relates to the thread or new information that contributes to issues that people regularly have then I'm all for a good dig. Thats what the search button is for isn't it?? Pointless posts asking "how'd you go" relating to some post 5 years old by a user who hasn't been here for 3 years is stupid though.

I agree with reap, It can be 6 years old for all i care, if it adds infomation its fine so long as its not pointless posting.
Thread digging is ok as mentioned above, it's only when your digging a "For Sale" thread that is 6 years old. That's just stupid
Is there someone that can remove old thread such as that ^^^^^ so it doesnt happen?

I just wanted to hear other people's opinion about the whole thread digging concept, whenever im looking at questions others have asked a while back and i see a recent post they usually get pinned for thread digging, regardless of whether their input is useful or just plain pointless.
this is a good case that the search button should have been used instead of a new thread ebay memcal.....any good? anyone used?
i searched an OMG!!!!

It won't happen unfortunately, I enquired about it a little while back and the 'Classified moderators' shunned the idea because "they have better things to do..."
You try and search "F/S **insert random car part here**" and threads from years back come up, all either sold, sold and not updated or user inactive for years.
Nothing is more annoying when about four members comment on one thread dig......
The best type of thread dig would be one where the original poster dug it up and says
"hey you know that problem we were all having with our cars and none of us could solve it?... This is how I fixed the problem...
But it will never happen![]()
lmao i see you dug one of my old threads up hahah i havnt been on this site for like 2 years but ive come back i dont know what ive been missing out on :P
MY VY SV8 HBD http://forums.justcommodores.com.au/...y-sv8-hbd.html
It pisses me off when someone who made a thread 5 years ago saying "How can I get my VL to start?", gets dug up by someone who gives them an answer. It's like number 1, how did you even find this thread without manually searching through all the old ones, and 2, it's been 5 years, surely his VL has been fixed since then.
But if someone does dig, you can always count on me to post some sort of smart assed picture. Also the search function is shit.

Dam right we have better things to do.
People report their post with "Sold" or something, then we will close it. We arent going through all the for sale threads closing them...
As far as thread digging goes, im fine with it - if the post is something of substance or adds some relevant information etc.
