Another One Bites The Dust - BTJunkie Volutarily Shuts Down.

WASHINGTON — BTJunkie, a popular file-sharing indexing site, says it was voluntarily shutting down, less than three weeks after the US closure of Megaupload in a crackdown on piracy of music, films and other materials.

"This is the end of the line my friends," BTJunkie said in a brief message posted on the home page of the site on Monday along with the dates of its existence: "2005-2012".

"The decision does not come easy, but we've decided to voluntarily shut down," Britain-based BTJunkie said. "We've been fighting for years for your right to communicate, but it's time to move on.

Whoops, I stopped reading that thread about a day ago.

Looks like a lot of the site owners are running scared, don't blame them, I don't want to get arse raped for 30 years because I wanted a few free albums.

I think that's it, they know they won't be able to win/don't want to try and risk it.

They should have made Terms and Conditions saying "If you upload illegal stuff, we aren't liable since this is a site designed for file sharing through the public world wide".

I think most of the internet providers will be worried about sites like btJunkie closing down as many of their customers will downgrade their plans because they won't longer be needing the big download limits they currently have.

file sharing sites are like terrorists, kill one and 10 pop up. dosent matter what laws come out there will always be a host somewhere in the world.... if it comes down to it it will be like "the boat that rocked" a server in international waters or something....
