Crazy ain't it? I have never seen anything like it. We got caught up in it last night everywhere was flooded roads closed everywhere, we seen wheelie bins floating down the rd, people up past their waists in water, water up to car roofs and it was like gridlock trying to get out never seen so many police, firies/ambos in my life it was nuts. Its pissing down again now hope its not as bad as last night.

I'll be in Penrith tonight, hopefully it's not too bad.
Park Road at Luddenham was really bad yesterday afternoon, especially the potholes. Camden/Werombi area was pretty bad too, minor flooding in areas, just very wet and the roads can't hold up against the big trucks in the dry let alone weeks of rain. If the Wallacia bridge floods, I'm gonna have fun getting back up the hill home.

Average February rainfall = 130.3mm (total for this month so far, it's the 10th, 171.6mm).
Rainfall yesterday in Penrith = 115.4mm
Penrith weather - local weather forecast

There is high chance of rain, virtually everyday, for the next month.
    Sydney 28-day Rainfall Forecast

    I'm buying a crapload of Rain-X.

On the plus side, given the intesity of the La Nina, it must be reaching it's peak and thus beginning to break down. With luck, next summer, should be actually hot... and probably back to drought.

    "Nsw Western suburbs floods LOL"
I don't really see how it's that funny, a lot of people would be:
    A) Scared shitless.
    B) Losing their possessions, homes etc.

Also probably means that a nice chunk of our tax dollars will end up there rather than somewhere else..

It is a bit of minor flooding, not a tsunami. The highest it got was about 2-3 feet it some places, mostly no more than 6 inches.

So you feel sorry for us out in Penrith, but you don't want to cough up coin if people are actually in trouble because the money is better off somewhere else?

Mate, ease up, he isn't mocking or wishing pain and suffering on the westies - he is one. At the end of the day Penrith was built on a flood plain, it will flood from time to time. All we get up here at Warragamba is bloody hail! My car was covered in blankets/moving mats/towels yesterday.

Looks like more storms today, and showers most of the week. There was a big storm yesterday, down around the Oaks/Thirlmere is very sodden, roads just started flooding in minutes. VT's are decent boats it must be said lol.

    Also this makes me sad:
    http://www.weatherzone.com.au/long-r.../nsw/illawarra

Every, single, damned, day is a 75% or higher chance of rain. Oh except about 2 days this week.

I've only work about two days in the last three weeks because of this rain. I do concrete resurfacing and the concrete need to be completely dry before I can do anything. I don't know if I should chance a trip to Orangeville today or not.

I live about 10 mins from Orangeville, you might be lucky, but it will rain again today - and the entire area is sodden with water. It's probably not worth your effort mate.

It might not be the most flattering picture of them...but still...if you have nothing nice to say...don't say anything at all. :-/
