    Default ebay seller, fair or dodgy?

    Heres some back story:
    i bought a set of fuel rails off said buyer, received them, they had surface scratches over the rails, were very heavy, the fittings felt very flimsy and the braided line looked and felt like shit. so i sent them back for a refund and instead of a refund i looked at a credit for something else from their store although there was nothing i wanted. i then called up and requested a refund the rest is self explanatory in the below ebay messages to the ebay store.

    have i been unfair or is my anger justified? i wont give away the seller just yet.

    it has been 2 weeks today since i called up (02 #### ####, talked to Richard) and requested instead of getting a credit for another item i asked for a refund. i have called in 2 further times within the past 2 weeks with the promise of someone getting back to me about when i should be getting my refund but i havent heard anything yet. i am now very pissed off and just want my money back. if i havent received the money back by close of business tomorrow the 2/3/2012 i will be contacting Ebay and consumer afairs with an official complaint and advice on how to get my money back.

    Hello Jack, i have spoken to accounts @ "suppliers name", and they have been overseas for the last 4 weeks, however are back in the office tomorrow, so apologies for the delay, however that is the reason it has not been refunded as yet. I do apologise for any delay or inconvenience caused, however Richard did mention to me that he tried to help you in many ways, however was unsuccessful in doing so. If you would be so kind to leave feedback, either be it neutral, or positive (but i doubt that), i will make this happen as soon as you do this for me. The reason i ask this is that apparently you were only unhappy with the quality, not that it was faulty in any way, so if you can do that for me, i will make this happen straight away for you, which i think is fair. Thank you

    Dear ebay seller,

    the entire accounts team of "supplies name" just went overseas for 4weeks and come back the day after i make a complaint, and you expect me to believe that? if that was the case then why wasn't i informed 2weeks ago when i asked for a refund? and now your trying to blackmail some neutral or positive feedback out of me before giving me my refund? that's bullshit. yes Richard tried helping me find other product to use the credit for although there was nothing else i wanted therefore requested the refund. Correct the only problem i had (at the start of this transaction) was the quality because the spiel you provided on the ebay page was taken word for word from the comp cams website for their fuel rails and i guess "aircraft lightweight aluminum" and "show car quality" was what i was expecting. it was defiantly not what i received. no feedback will be left until i have my money back, and like i said if my money isn't refunded by COB tomorrow i will make an official complaint as the ebay listing was misleading and stolen from a better quality brand name website.

    It is not blackmail, as the way we have treated you is fair, and have gone out of our way to help you as you were not happy. Consumers get what they want, then i cop the spray for it, affecting my business, which is not fair. All i am asking for, is for you to be reasonable with your feedback even when i have done nothing wrong. The entire accounts team is one lady, who is the owner of the company and is the only person with authority to do refunds, i'm sorry, if i could have done it, i would have allready. If you choose to beleive it or not, is up to you, i'm just telling you how it is honestly and what is going on as to why it has not been done allready, a refund has never been the issue, as this will be done.

    look at it from my point of view. i bought a product from your store (from you) under the impression of "the best price and quality on the market, satisfaction guranteed" (as from the item listing). as the product i received was far from this i then had to fork out the cost of sending the item back, after "suppliers name" contacted me and said "we take brand name products and sell cheaper versions of them" (quote from Richard) i felt there was no need to be sent another fuel rail set-up as i know i would be unsatisfied again and would have to fork out another cost in sending the second set back. After searching the suppliers cataloge and finding nothing else i wanted i requested a refund and richard told me that was fine and he would refund the money. 7 days later i call up wondering where my money was. I was told that they would check with the accounts dept. and get back to me. i never heard anything back, So i call up again 7 days after that and request richard call me ASAP regarding this matter but never heard back, that is when i emailed you. I was never told of the accounts team being out of the county and if i was we wouldnt have this problem.as for telling me i wouldnt get my money back until i left positive or neutral feed back is definatly not good business ethics and pretty sure against Ebays policy. if my money was refunded or i was told about the delay when i requested the refund i wouldnt have a problem and would have left positive feedback as it was just a missunderstanding but the fact that i have ####ed around and left in the dark about my money has really annoyed me as you could imagine. dont try and make yourself look like the victim here and like im the one being unfair.

    It sounds reasonable I suppose.. Either way they probably just think that soon as they refund it you'll put negative, which is why they're asking that first. In the end they got to pay for it (if you paid paypal aswell) so I wouldn't worry.

    This is why you can Dispute things on PayPal... If you didn't use it take it up with him or your bank.

    One look at the neg feedback for that seller and I wouldn't have purchased.
    Also you thought $150 fuel rails would be quality? I paid $400 for mine with no fittings.

    Haha shit. mods feel free to fix that if u want. Yeah i shouldnt of cheaped out. Learnt my lesson now.

    Ill give them until tmro arvo to get the money back. And there feed back was really good, i always check that stuff. Guess they just dont appreciate refunds.

    And yes i payed paypal. But they want to sting me 15% handing fee but as the item details was misleading i feel like i shud get the full amount back. Any grounds to argue this you think?
