Talented guys. Still think that prog/melodic death guitarists are the most talented in regards to style, flow, and skill level.
There's no way there are many more "better" guitarists than Petrucci, Akerfeldt or the boys from Pain of Salvation

Satriani "Surfing with the Alien" was one of my first LP's. Love it.
Once you return to earth and have your hearing back, those of us who appreciate the finer things in life like Joe S, Eddie VH, Ritchie Blackmore and Jimmy Page would love to hear a review of the great event.

Petrucci went on the last G3 tour i think. When it comes to guitarists, it's all in how you perceive them.... each has their own particular style, their own strengths. There are a lot of good guitarists out there.

Thats right. for example, when it comes to skill and speed you can't really go past death metal guitarists in terms of technique. Yet if the same guitarists were solo, it would just not be the same.
In saying that, I'm super ###cing jealous about not going to this, all 3 are incredibly talented and porn for the ears

update on the show!! one word.... AWESOME!!!!! The surprise of the night was Steve Lukather! he was very good!! the whole show went for about 3 hours and the music was brilliant!! The meet and greet was good! Joe and Steve seemed to be very down to earth regardless of their success. Listening to Steve talk about his earlier years you could hear the admiration in his voice for his former teacher.
Steve Lukather started the show and spent about 45 minutes on stage.... Steve and Joe spent probably the same amount of time playing as well. Joe played Surfing with the alien last.... and i thought the roof was going to come down! the crowd went mad!! and he played it freaking brilliantly! 3 days later and i am still buzzing!!

yeah mate....probably half the guys brought guitars with them. They say only one item... but a couple of guys brought their guitar and a small flying V ukulele LOL
