What about if you tie some sinkers to their tails so they can't swim upwards.

    Sorry Garth.

Very funny Scotty. Now "beam" me up my clothes

    lol stretch

do you have your tank filled up too much? I remember having a problem like that a long while ago - I'd come home and fish would be on the carpet...

if you don't then maybe they're just possessed and in that case exorcise them

More info required. How big is your tank, how many fish, what sort of fish, what filters do you have, do you have an air pump, what do you feed them, etc etc.

I've got a tank myself, no expert but i might be able to help.

PS- how's the rattle in the VN?

Chalee could be right about Nemo, but I had the same problem yet it was only when my fish were upstairs rather than downstairs.

    Weird hey!

I had tropical fish years ago. Came home from work one day to discover the water heater had malfunctioned and the fish were dead.

I went and got a serving of chips to go with them!

    ok guy's and charlee,

it's a 5ft fish tank, 5ft long, 3ft high, and 3 ft wide, holds a shit tin of water, as for the type of fish, i got 5 fish all up, little guppies, im trying to solve the problem of fish jumping out before i go and spend some big cash on tropcal fish, it's not a tropical tank yet, still havnt put in the heater, as for the filter, it's what the fish guy sold me, it cost like $200 so im hoping it's the right type,

    nice size tank
the fiilter is pumping air aswell as cleaning the water right if so is it sending enough oxygen thru the tank with a tank that size you should have a least three spots where the air is pumped into the water usually one each end and one in the middle
as you say you have guppies maybee there is something scaring them like say your just out the shower and you walk past the tank lol couldnt resist that sorry
i dont know alot about fish but the thing i did hear about them is the oxygen levels have to be right and the water clarity has to be spot on aswell other than that i have no idea why they do it

You don't have a box of extra-absorbant tampons sitting above the tank like in the TV ad with the stressed out fish have you?

Seroiusly though, it doesn't sound to me as there is any sort of problem that would be making the fish jump out, more than likely it's just the nature of the fish.

Maybe if they bash their heads on it for long enough it'll knock some sense into them .

Still pisses ya of but, dopey fish
