Workshop Manager of an Automotive Air Conditioning Company in South East Queensland. Same company for 7.5 years, and counting.............. and counting........and counting!!!!!
Doing A/c on and off since '88.
Prior to this I was in the 4th year of an Automotive Mechanical Apprenticeship, got sick of the grease and lack of money.
Also had my own Lawn mowing run, approx. 100 customers, and have done some sales stuff and had a stint repairing computers for a while. Theres nothing like life to stuff you around!
Hope to shift to Perth and start something of my own .........soon.....very soon!!!!
cheers all. Guy.
120 in a 100 zone.....Sorry officer....I thought you where trying to give my wife back!!!!
Spent 12 years as a trade qualified Chef, first 4 of those as apprentice.
Due to the agro, and general bad enviroment of kitchens, I decided to throw it in for the sake of my family ( mrs, 9yrs & 5yrs. )
Now working in a leading Sunshine Coast Bottleshop / Liquorbarn. Have been for the past 6 months, love it, will NEVER return to another kitchen!!!
i'm a formworker. i build mansions and such. a quasi-family busines.
also i'd like people to tell about past jobs a bit more too. i'm interested.
i've worked all up and down the east coast of australia over the last couple of years. i really enjoy my job, get to work with mates and i'm my own boss.
my wife works in childcare and i've got a 2.5 year old girl and one on the way.
plus, i like commodores. especially v8's
Well my main work is a Home Entertainment and Office specialist, I basically setup and sell products and give demos. Changed from car stereo which i originally got into.
I also had a stink as an auto-electrician, and still do a bit of work for a Taxi company in Melbourne but couldn't stand doing it full time as it's really repetitive and very aggrivating staring at wiring diagrams for all these new comp controlled cars all the time.
Can be a very rewarding job, and my mates love me for it.
Also in a band who plays originals and covers, and we play live about once a week, sometimes more.
Also used to work as cabinet maker but couldn't stand all the dust, carpark attendent, umm and valet parker (lasted a whole 2 weeks).
Full time aviation student, currently qualified private pilot and will hold Commercial Pilots Licence (CPL) by end of feb all going to plan. After that I will complete a multi engine instrument flight rating, and then begin a flight instructors course. Hope of course one day to fly the big stuff but its a long road to work my way up yet.
In case anyones interested, my course is a Diploma in Air Instruction & Managment, and im flying Cessna 172's now, will move on to Beechcraft BE76 (Duchess) for multi

I finished school (HSC) in 93 then did a horticulture course in 94 after deferring first year graphic design. Since halfway thru 95 I've been working as a technical assistant in a geological exploration/mining firm.
I did about 6 Months work at a local service station, doing weekend cleaning (general maintenance, picking rubbish, empying bins, sweeping forecourt etc) for bout 4-5 hrs on the weekend.. not bad for $10 per hour.
Trying to get a job in a computer shop or washing cars for a dealership of some sort, need cash for a car

Im a Rifleman soon to be a commando based at williamstown in Melbourne
I am currently an Electronics technician (boffin) in the Army. I'm getting a little bored with it and may Xfer to become an Electrician soon. I am also a qualified car detailer, having got my certificate at tafe and worked in the industry for a couple of years.
hey vsberli, just be carefull, when you transfer yoru muster from et over to electricain, if you leave the service, you will not have any civilain qualifications at a electrican on the outside, this has happend to me, i was a et in the navy, when i left, (nov 2000) i have no formal qualification, as a result, im doing my apprenticeship all over again. just a thought.

Hi there GARTH, thanks for the pointer but the services have changed in recent years and all trade qualifications gained are tafe approved and certified (nationaly). My ET trade certificate is from RMIT even though i gained it through a defence establishment, (just to clear things up).
