Hahahh, I did this.. Briefly with Domino's.. Hourly rate of $9.90, plus $1.50 per delivery, if using your own car.. Nothing if using the Domino's car.. You make Pizza's when you don't have deliveries..
$1500 excess if you do anything to the Domino's car..
The worst thing about the job was the ease in which you could land yourself in hot water.. Like with other jobs, no matter how badly you f*ck up, you're not personally out of pocket..
How much did you get paid wherever you worked?
baaaah Domino's... filthy franchise crap! haha sorry I had to say that! When I started I got $10/hr, three years later (now) I'm getting $12/hr.. Not much but I like working there because my boss is a legend. He usually chips in $20-30 extra every couple of weeks so I can't exactly complain. I drive my own car but i don't get any extra for delivering unfortunately. Tips usually make up for that though, speaking of which about 6 months ago I got a $50 tip which was pretty sweetOriginally Posted by shounak
Drinking money for the Saturday night after work!!! There will be the occassional screw up, but a big fuss isn't made out of it though. If people come in and complain my boss usually abuses them back because they're idiots (ie complaining about waiting, especially when we're busy and they can see that we are). Its a small shop so orders can stack up fairly quickly in the space of ten mins, ie the phone ringing non stop and people coming in and ordering.

pffft, Dominhos
I work for Pizza Slut. At our store most of the problems we have are caused by the staff, just with other staff. As far as service and quality go, we are up there with the best although we are a small suburban store. But on the busy nights we sure know how to take a hammering.
Do Dominos count the total number of drivers deliveries? I'm 1300+.

Hi I ordered a pizza like two hours ago.................
What do you do for the forgotten customer?
Never
$50.00 paid for each answer to a post of mine.
Please note cheques will not be honoured
My mates regional manager for dominos. It must be paying him alright because he gave up an engineering career to persue managing a dominos store of his own. He wants to move to new zealand to open it.
When you make your own pizza's. what do you put on them
I also do pizza delivery.. only on weekends now tho..Pay isnt the best, but co-workers make it worth staying on..

If we're running late with deliveries. we'll phone ahead to let you know. Its a matter of common courtesy. The biggest problem we have is that some nights are so busy that deliveries will be at least an hour (minimum) but that doesn't happen all too often, usually 30-40mins.Originally Posted by Pretender

My favourite is: mushrooms, onion, prawns, garlic and a lil bit of chilli and cheese of course. I avoid eating the ham (high fat content)Originally Posted by bextor84

Why do all franchise pizza stores pizzas taste like crap and only contain about 5% meat?
My local pizza joint makes it's own bases in the shop by hand and they don't use frozen bases with 7 different types of gross cheese in the middle of it. Each a different shade of yellow. I guess when you get older junk food seems to taste worse.

Nicest pizza ever.

Because its a franchise store, of course its going to use cheap horrible pretend meat. Apart from the ham (which is beef based, the boss is Muslim so everything is Halal) all our produce is fresh. All our bases are rolled fresh and the dough is made in a dough mixer, no preservatives etc... Best thing is people will try our pizzas and come back saying they're the best pizzas they've ever had and keep coming back time after time.Originally Posted by VXWAGMAN

I don't usually do this as I'm a fairly good natured person most of the time, but its time for a rant...
Its specific to work, but applies to all who do some sort of delivery work, ie. couriers. The past week at work has been pretty busy and have had quite a few deliveries to do, however these deliveries didn't go with out their problems. I had alot of difficulty finding two specific addresses because of 1) there are no numbers on the letterboxes or fence; 2) there is poor lighting, either due to street lamps or lack of, and tight arse morons who don't turn their front porch lights on; 3) The address is not easily visible as it is tucked away behind another residence and the customer has failed to tell you this, then telling you when you get the door, 'oh youve been here before, so you should know where it is!' Bullshit, just because we have delivered there before, doesn't mean I've been there before! We have more than just one driver you tool! 4) Customers who give you their phone number and when you try to call it, its either busy, rings right through, or the phone is turned off. We ask for your number so we can call you just in case there is a problem, such as having difficulty finding the address, or we're running late because its busy, therefore delaying the arrival of their order and them wondering why the order is late and abuse you. Well **** you too, I did try to call you, not just once several times, yet you didn't anser your bloody phone!!! 5) People who take forever to answer the door. Once I sat outside for 10mins, ringing the bell, knocking on the door and windows, calling them but to no avail. They only by chance heard me knocking when they walked past the front door. Geeze people, if your expecting a delivery then keep an ear out for the door bell!!! Lucky it wasn't busy that night; 6) Drunken idiots forgetting that they ordered pizza and bugger off somewhere else
[/rant]
I needed to get that out of my system... **** I hate my job for that reason. gggrrr... Anyone know of any part time work available somewhere?

Going where no late model stato/caprice has gone before.... GAME ON!!
Mate.. I had one of the worst of you all..
I got pinned doing 98km/h in a 60km/h zone (in dandenong) in the middle of the night.. I still claim not my fault, following a friend.... long story cut short: my dad signed the stat dec for me as I needed to drive for work, so I did all his dirving for him, which included doing a 5-11pm shift every friday and saturday night for 6 months...
best we ever did was:
about 22 deliveries one night (not bad considering the area the shop covered)
one night my old man and I got into a little bit of shit (i had to use the toilet.. took a little too long the customer rang up the boss.. complained, got back to the old man.. ended up in a bit of discussion at the door, sorry's said.. my old man explained tot he next delivery what happened.. walked away with a $25 tip!
the best one though, was couple of drunks ordered a pizza.. told me to rip it up.. gave it a bit of curry as I left.. no burnout though.. and got a major cheer for it!
The only pizza franchise which is any good is Eagle Boys, and that's because they're NOT Americanized crap! Can't go wrong with Eagle Boys.
Nothing beats home-made though.
I was thinking about doing pizza delivery, but my ex's dad did it and he got paid very little so that put me off.
eagle boys sucks.
i work for dominoes and it was cool
Eagle boys - Worst pizza ever.
Home made is bordering on the best pizza ever.. Once I figure out how to get my base perfect I'll be happy.
Made one the other night, capsicum, onion, olives, prawns, ham, mushroom, salami, hot pepperoni, garlic and chilli.. needed pineapple. but i spooned a little bit of sour cream on the top .. nice.
