I don't know if anyone knew this but i'll go on. I was watching a show that enlightened me to a huge mistake by GM america. 40yrs ago they developed a new v8 that they ran for 3 yrs. after 3 yrs they decided they didn't like the alloy block (mistake 1). shortly after they discarded it a british engineer saw one sitting around a boat yard and GM sold him the rights to it (mistake 2). the engine then became the world renound Rover V8 that was then placed in rovers, discoverys, defenders, mg gt's, morgans, and the list goes on. this engine was then run for another 37 years before being scrapped only recently. Now can everyone here imagine an early model commie with an alloy rover v8 in it. Damn GM for not giving us that.

the show is called Top Gear. it's on ABC through the week. pretty funny too, they bag out a lot of european cars, but very insightful too. i download them off the net using imesh, but you'd probably be able to use kazaa or something.Originally Posted by MOTIV8
