I don't want anyone claiming rice or whatever, flaming etc..
I have done a couple of installs lately, including my own car of Footwell Neons and Boot Neons, a mate of mine was quoted about $50 dollars PER neon to install (via JB-HI FI) and a certain hourly rate.. I will charge anyone who wants footwell neons to a switch or boot neons installed for $10 per neon with no hourly rate - you supply all equipment such as neons, wiring, connectors etc etc, I will supply tools like a drill.
Talk to me in PM or email me at hsv_guy01 at hotmail dot com, or tr3nt at iprimus dot com dot au!
South East/Southern suburbs only. If the locations are in like southern places such as scoresby or up that area I will charge $10 on top for petrol coverage.
I know someone who wants a complete car interior done, was quoted around $1100 for install only, not sure, i will certainly pass on your email address
depends on what you mean by "whole car" but if its easy enough.. I will do it. I am actually thinking of upping the pay by $15 a neon.. but if people are unhappy with that, I can do $10.. be more happy with $15 though
if you think about it:
2x front neons
2x rear neons
1x boot neon
call out charge (if a fair distance away)
$70.. still by far cheaper than a retail install, and I have been quoted that I do a professional looking job.

I hope you hold a valid licence for handling the dangerous CCFL in those tube.
You put you left foot in, your put your right foot in , you take your left foot out and you slide it all about!
Well, I read the packaging the neons came in (knowing that the actual glowing substance could possibly be dangerous) and it said nothing about dangerous goods etc etc.. the ONLY advice they gave me was to "avoid using the neon for periods in excess of 3 hours".Originally Posted by 12Voltking
The packaging also comes with install instructions, so im sure there's no license required. If there is, I should still be alright as im not doing this as a registered business, only a hobby!
Any idea how much parts would cost (ie the neons), to do the interior of a car.. No boot..Originally Posted by tr3nt
two neons, wiring, switch, fuse
round about $30 give/take
If you are thining about it, I'll go and price them all tomorrow, give you an accurate price.
yeah your right, I'm just shitting you. But, as a warning.. if you ever snap a neon and actually shatter the glass...throw it all away from you away from you and everyone else as fast as you can....think of it as a small hand grenade. It won't explode but the gases are definetly dangerous...very bad for your lungs....will burn for days.
Remember...if running 3 or more from the one power source to relay it from a heabier duty power source...
If you want any tips o tricks...just PM me and I can send you some fancy relay designs.

No worries. What colour would you want?
I'll post up a price tomorrow sometime.. or even today depending on what happens with the parents (im using thier car at the moment as mines dead)
I'm thinking blue.. Can't really think of any other decent colours..Originally Posted by tr3nt

from what I can tell, thats using 4 neons. One at the front of each seat, and one at the rear of each seat.
I can still hook them up to a single switch.
Would the wires be well hidden... Cuz obviously I don't want people to see wires running through my car..
Will they be very visible?
Yes, the wires are well hidden to the point that I only allow a few millimeters of wire to be shown. I try to keep the visibility of the tube to as least as possible, but make the glow bright if you know what I mean.
Ok cheers.. Sounds awesome.. So yeah, just get back to me with a price and we're cruisin..
My msn/email is thahottestmale at hotmail ...
Thanks mate..
that car actually has about 6-8 lights in it.

Ok, some calories to think about:
Neons: $20 (24cm Neon)
Wiring: $7 (7 meters)
Switch: $7 (basic on/off switch)
Cable ties: ($4)
connectors: approx ($6-7)
Fuse: $5
$69 for parts (2 neons)
about $100 give/take inc. paying me to install. (depending on where you live)
Sounds pretty good.. You got pics of it in a car?Originally Posted by tr3nt
the pics a few posts up is what I just did to a mates car (vp wagon). I didn't take too many pics of the passenger side footwell, cause there was shit everywhere!
Ok cool, sounds good.. Where are you located?Originally Posted by tr3nt
Hastings. Just give me a yell when you want it done, and I'll come to your place and do it if you want. Where abouts are you located?
Can you actually blow the bulbs themselves....cuz i tried to repair my black neons, cuz there all aqua shit or too small/big now.
And as for the fuse its on...can you have 4 hooked up to cigerette lighter...20amp i believe. (i'll prob test it one day)
And visibility...is it legal to have em visible while driving if cars of same height cant see them. Cuz mine are on the front/bottom of my glove box, and just under my steering column. Yes some ppl might think its gay having them visible, but it's the only way they are really effective for lighting(glowing) up your clothing.
