Default Speeding fines for P Platers

I recently recieved a speeding fine for doing 77 in a 50 zone. It was 270 bucks and 3 points. I have been told that I will have to stay on my P's longer now but the cops never said anything about that. Can someone please let me know what happens with that cos i cant stand being on my P's for much longer.
    cheers

depending on what state you are in (this applies for QLD, not sure about other states) you will get a letter in the mail, giving you an option of either a 3 month voluntary suspension or a 1 yr good behaviour bond, but if you do anything wrong on a good behaviour bond you automatically loose your license for 6 months

do u only get 4 demerit points in SA to begin with?
in WA we get 12 lol, and u can get as many speeding fines as u like on ur p's

only way to lose ur liscence is DD or reckless/careless driving (they are automatic 3 months then u have to sit practical L's test again)

Yeh i started on 4 points. I dont usually speed but someone was following me and it was an excel so i had to blow it off. It's not just speeding im afraid i'll get pulled over for something small. I wish we did start on 12 points on our P's.

going by vicroads website in vic for first year u have 5 points, after that u will get ur full 12..

if u recieve any fine other then DD in any other state and loose points but not ur license it will not affect u in vic.. i was fined in qld wen driving up for there for 120 in a 100, i was meant to loose 3 points but lost none, then here i did a little burnout and im serious, its only squeld no smoke, they said i lost controll of my vechile and sent to my address a fine of 141 and 0 points.
even tho what they fined me was a motor bike law. going by my dads best mate, a sergent. thats why i lost no points, i could fight it cause i didnt loose control as he said. but ill deserve it, so i still have 5 points.. and in august it will be 12

I thought the 5 points per year applies during your full probationary period.. With the 12 points only kicking in once you get your Full..

Losing control of a vehicle isnt a motorcycle fine.

As far as the tosser doing 77 in a 50 zone..its people like you who cause a massive generalisation within the P plater community. I hope you lose your licence because we dont need wankers who exceed the speed limit by more than 30 km/h on our roads

why is it always p plater bashing minux? well, having a go at pople that do wrong. least he knew what he did and took it on the chin, he was asking a question about points, etc. not saying he shouldnt of got it.

ok, i got done doing 80 in a 60 zone last year, but im still damned if i know how, as it was either pulling up to turn into my driveway or leaving it. it was a camera though, and we know how dodgy they can be. but i only got about a $120 fine and i think no points.

i doubt you'd have to have more time on your p's, unless you already lost 1 or2 points previously. who told you you have to stay on p's longer anyway?

P Platers get 5 points to start with? I never knew that.

It should be 1 point. That'd slow 'em down.

You P platers can take it however you like.

The fact remains that whenever there is idiotic behaviour in the car park opposite my house, it is ALWAYS a P plater. Donuts, burnouts, rollbacks, whatever. When I go out there the car is ALWAYS displaying a P plate.

I also have a speed hump right outside my front door. People seem to take that as an invitation to sit there and do the longest burnout they can. Guess what? ALWAYS P platers.

No one else seems to do these things. Why is that?

If P platers were given only 1 point, these things probably wouldn't happen...

do you know how easy it is to lose 1 point when your on your p's?????
    if your doing 54 in a 50 zone....theres 2 points straight up!
imagine how many p platers would be in court for pissy little fines like that, they are in the wrong yes, but it is already unfair that people on their full license will probably get away with these things and just because you ahve a P plate up you will get sledged for it

Minux who the f**k are you to say that. As i said i hardly ever speed and am a pretty sensible driver compared to alot of other P platers. I know i deserve the fine and i'm gonna be bloody careful from now on. I'm sure that you have sped numerous times in your life and sometimes you are just unlucky. Also when driving on the Sturt highway sitting on 100 (P platers legal limit in S.A.) I tend to notice massive number of vehicles flying past me at at least 130 who arent on their P plates.
Dont go shooting your mouth off alright wanker!
