I drive to work every day using North East Rd and over a period of time
had noticed the road surface (across both lanes in front of City Holden Used) starting to subside. The previous repairs had not been compacted enough
before laying the tar causing a rather large crater to form across both
northerly lanes. In peak hour traffic I'd soon be reminded by a loud thump as the lowered front end bottomed out in this pit.
I finally rung up Transport Dept and got put throught to some dude who took down details of the situation.I pointed out that if nothing was done about it
and my car was damaged, the state government would be getting a bill
for any repairs required. He said he would arrange an inspection straight away.
Now this was on a Thursday and would you believe that on Monday night
on the way home from work I noticed the road had been fixed.
Has any one else got any similar stories to tell?
when i was on holidays there was a 5km road tp get to the place where i was staying, it was pretty much perfect, no obvious pot holes, following day after a night of heavy rain and semi trailors, all the pot holes had been eptied out of what ever they filled them with, and the road was a mess..
