Default 1976 Mazda Roadpacer for sale (a Holden Rotary)

Now I know what you're thinking, Juz's lost it by not posting this in the for sale section, well it's not really like that.. Anyone who knows what this car is will appretiate it as much as me, well they're selling one:

That's right, the Mazda Roadpacer, Factory fitted Rotary engine to a Holden chassis.. quite an odd and I imagine extremely rare thing..

    That is absolutely fantastic.

Probably a bit of a slug though, heavy-body and the peaky motor.

No-one would expect you to take off from the lights at 8,000 rpm though.

I remember reading about this car and Holden's failed attempt using the rotary when I was younger. Holden had Torana, Kingswood, Premier and Statesman test cars fitted with the rotary but pulled the pin on any production cars due to the weak oil seals of the rotaries and the potentional bad repution it would cause for them as happened to the NSU Company.
It says in the article 181kw, it must have meant to say 81kw. Unless they used the 70s power measurement of " Oh, 181kw sounds good" We didn't see the 13B until the series II RX7s in 80/81 and they put out between 85 & 94KW standard until 84 when they had 110kw. The 86 turbo had only 133kw.
I'm off to see if I can find any Holden test data.

I've always loved the idea of a Roadpacer....what a blast to take the piss out of the ricey boys by fitting one with a mega-worked peripheral port 20B rotary, the big sucker, with maybe a supercharger or a couple of nice big turbo's...They wouldn't know what to make of the rotary whine and off-throttle cackle coming out of a Premier...

yeah i read about these once in a "just cars" article as a "dont touch with a 10 foot barge pole". they got a limited export run to sell to the japs but they flopped badly coz the rotary just couldn't handle the hj weight. would be interesting as a collectors peice
