    OK.

Cylinder 1 is on the passengers side, closest to the front of the car.

Cylinder 2 is on the drivers side, closest to the front of the car.

    Firing order is 1-6-5-4-3-2.

Facing the car head-on it would look like this:

    6 -- 5
    4 -- 3
    2 -- 1

These were originally American designed engines, so they're the opposite to what you'd expect - Cylinder 1 is on the passenger side. Same on Gen3 & Gen4, but opposite on the 308 & 253.

...so far so good...."246 up the left side and 135 up the right from standing at the front"

...so now..if so..where do they position them[the leads] on the coil block??
....is the coil bloke order 6 to 1=left to right......? ..pretty sure the first pin came off #6 pot and the last pin came off #1 pot....

The coils should have the numbers stamped on them.

Max Ellery reckons that they go in this order from left to right:

    6-3-2-5-4-1

Try wiping the coils with a soft rag to see if the numbers show up, because I don't have a V6 I can reference this with.

Much easier on the Gen 3s. They have a coil for each cylinder mounted 6 inches from their respective spark plugs. Pisser...

That's the most important thing. Learning from our mistakes is what life is all about.
