good news
After 3 weeks (at 1am tmorrow morning) of playing passenger, and only being able to drive the parents VP.. (after my car blew the auto) Today hopefully will be the day I get to drive my car again! It's never good to see your own car being towed away, but it's all good!

oh **** yeah!!
whats even more expensive is cruising down the main street of somewhere (don't think im a chapel hoon.. never went up chapel with the VR) seeing a bunch of people (preferebly females) slipping into neutral and a couple of love revs about 2-3,000 RPM.
goodbye synchros, goodbye auto!

can't afford a 5 speed upgrade - I'd lose my license anyway.. the parent's VP 5 speed was bad enough!
Nah I like the cruisiness of a nice 4 speed auto, compared to clutching all the time, gearing down to slow down.. tires my leg after a while..

mate, don't!
For the VR upwards, the auto's weren't made to be accellerated through the gears, nor slowed down through the gears. The whole purpose was to be a cruisy ride, slip into drive and enjoy!
Slipping it into Neutral for a bit of rev, the synchros go out of whack when you put it back into drive. It's like sitting at the lights, cause you're revving, the auto thinks you're trying to take off.. I noticed when I did it once or twice there was a very slight note of accelleration.
one thing you should also NEVER do in an auto, is either a standing start, or driving along is 'rev dumping' means slowly driving, or sitting on the spot, hitting neutral , taking the revs up then "dumping" it into Drive or 1st.. goodbye auto!

Auto transmissions don't have synchronisers. They don't need them.
Sounds like you might have fried a clutch pack or two, though.

I always use 2nd gear to slow down.. oops, yesterday i accidently went into 1st but wasnt going fast, revs shot right up though. I need a manual... i never rev in neutral while moving though.
I dont treat my transmission with much respect.... oh well.
