Who here puts their foot down to get to the max speed limit? or do you slowley get their?

Me and my mum have this fight everytime, she says thats speeding and that shes gonna call the local cop to talk to me.
I said to her, its not speeding I am always under the limit. How i get there doesnt matter, speed cameras dont read g force LOL.

Do you think its speeding/wreckless driving if so how?

then again, it is inconciderate to drivers behind you if you take forever to reach the speed limit.

depends what mood im in, sometimes i fang it up to the speed limit and leave it in 2nd gear (beautiful noise in the 8) other time i putter to the limit. really depends.

When you really think about it, how can it be reckless driving? i mean g-force doesnt affect your driving that much at the amount g's you have and your not braking the speed limit.

well if you waited for som1 in front of you to go forward a bit then you planted it to the speed limit pushing you up their ass (as they are accelerating at a standard rate) and then somthing makes them brake (person jumps out in front of them) and at this time you have just hit your peak acceleration you dont have the braking power required to stop as quik as they do (and they need to) then theres gonna be an accident and I would consider that wreckless

I think it's fair to say that you should always attempt to reach the limit within a reasonable period of time. I think it's incredibly rude when people take 500m just to reach 60km/h.

But yeah... If you want to plant your foot to accelerate, don't do it near police. They'll do you for excessive noise. Basically if you attract attention to yourself they'll probably find something to do you for anyway.

dont get em wrong i agree with getting to the limit in a reasonable time and get fustrated when people take 2 mins to do so... even thow i will do it myself if some pr*ck is sitting less than 2 meters behind me

Yep agreed, you dont have the braking power while your accelarating hard, nor the concetration as your more focused on gettin to the speed limit.
I guess that contradicts what i said in my fist statment.

I don't do it anymore, I used to if I had a full tank, but since my auto blew, I been babying lately.

The way I do it, I get to about 3 grand on the revs in first, back the throttle off, wait for gear change and go again.. I've actually had someone think my car was a manual.

I usually put around (read under 3 grand) in 50 zones.

But I will give her a revv taking off from lights in 80 zones sometimes. Haven't taken my car above 5 though.

Just depends on mood, temperature of the car (I keep it under 2 grand when cold), air-con on etc.

lol! I actually had the opportunity to give a VR 185i a run last night.. I drove nicely though.. it hurt like hell not to give it shit!

parked in a gravel carpark which I normally drifted out of.. and the wheels only span when I put the foot down, but only span like 1-2 meters from take off!

i take off pretty quick from lights if im in a 70+km/hr zone...anything under that i have to go slower because i go straight past 60 before i know it and then i have to back off completely.
as far as the legality of this, if you dont ....break traction, make excessive noise (as in have it bouncing off the rev limiter) and arent visibly/obviously racing another motorist there's nothing wrong with gettin up to the speed limit quickly.

there is a fine for it, i think its called 'rapid acceleration' or some crap. one of the police officers on here will know better, but it does exist.

Depends, generally no though, if anyones in a hurry behind me I'll generally take my time.

But having said that. Me taking off normally is generally quicker then most other people around me.

id have to say no but if someone is pissing me off or im in a hurry ill take off quick b ti wont put my foot flat unless racing coz thats not good for ur car. also, if im in a merging lane ill take off quicker then normal or if im pissed off i usually drive ALOT harder lol.

speaking of accelorating fast i live on a main road and unless i gun it from the set of lights i get some pr!ck up my ass and then nearly rear end me when i pull into my driveway and get sh!tty because i came to almost a compleat stop to pull into my drive so yeah ussually i gun it all the way up but the odd time i get a smart ass in a vy wagon tail gating me all the way the other night i got reall shitty and went right up to a 100 clicks i know naughty but back to the point the wanker gated me all the way and then got the sh!ts when i pulled into my drive
