Ebay.... Rude Sellers...

OMG I just asked a question in regards to a car someone is sellin on ebay... & just got the rudest reply... Now my question is... Do people like this get anywhere by being this rude? I really hope his piece of shit doesnt sell. Im not sure it will anyways... $5K for a VK Calais? He says "Its well known in adelaide" Now yeah I know why its well known to me, but I wanted to know why he thinks its well known here... & Also has different plates stated to whats in the pic (I thought a legit question) & I asked if there was anymore photos... Int, engine bay etc... As there is only 1 photo.


Now his response was "No i dont have ne more photos. u get what your given."


Rude much? Come on I know the guy is well known in adelaide as &*%^$@#*

But still! If ya want to sell ya car... not the way to go about talking to sellers IMO.

I had a guy selling a grille mod for a VY commy, they were chrome straps that went over the plastic ones, looksok from the pic. Anyway, the guy has his phone number as a number from around my area so i asked if i could arrange a meeting at a location of his choice so i could see the item (as i've never seen anything else like it around). Anyway, the guy told me to get F**ked and that what you see is what you get (in very bad english)

I sent him an email telling him to get stuffed and there is no way im spending 80 bucks on a mod that he isnt even willing to show people aside from a few poor quality photos.

Yeah, they annoy me, hopefully the dont sell their stuff and i feel sorry for the poor sod who buys items from dodgy sellers.

I think people like that are just keyboard warriors, and are most ikely selling dodgy products. I've never had a seller on ebay abuse me, but have read how others have. people change personality when they can't be easily tracked or linked to a real shop (there are numerous sellers on ebay who sell their items in a real shop you can visit) and all I can say is if someone is rude or arrogant, then just ignore them, or in the case of ebay, just report them for shill bidding, and they'll be banned instantly. ebay doesn't investigate claims of shill bidding until after you're allowed back in (if you're allowed back in).
And reporting items as counterfeit or dodgy doesn't work, as they have to get about 10 complaints about the same item before they pull the sale.
eBay is just a real big virtual minefield.
and don't get me started on paypal.....

The few people i've dealt with on ebay, is just like the same as what I'd expect at a normal shop, I'll pay more if the person is nice and goes out of their way for the customer.

But yeah, I've told many people that their item is a blatant rip off.

there isn't that many great deals on ebay anymore IMO. the money you often save on the item you spend on postage.

lol here is an old thread..... hehehe Update on the story.... car DID sell, but buyer wasnt aware that engine changeover wasnt approved & chassis damaged, so he could never get it slipped for rego in his state (NSW OR VIC) so it was on Ebay again a little while later, has been on AGAIN since! everytime its advertised loses something more, plates, then rims, then other stuff. Car is a POS & seems everyone still keeps thinking it aint. Oh well!

lol & there is a EFI 202 VKC for $7,500 been there for around 6mths so far lol

I know couple people that have bought cars from ebay... so maybe they have been lucky?

i've had no probs with ebay. anyone that doesnt answer emails gets no business from me. bought a boat and a bike and have had no probs. bought heaps of other stuff like cruise module lights etc and had them delivered cheaper than what i can get them locally. you just have to know what things are worth.

got some bargains off friendly sellers on ebay, and sold some stuff too. i'd be annoyed at someone too if i knew they were askin questionss with no intention of buying. bought and sold all sorts of stuff on ebay. There are some scumbags on there though that will try and screw you by skimming off the top of the postage.

7.5k for a 6cyl VK calais?!?!?! it'd wanna be an immaculate low kms only driven to church and back on sundays type car for that, can pick up nice 5L VK calais for 5K easy enough.
