Default These guys create a rolling roadblock by obeying the speed limit

    Only in America..

These guys create a rolling roadblock on an Atlanta Freeway by obeying the speed limit. People start losing their cool mighty quickly & they’ve got the video to prove it.

Thats not really proving that the limit is too low, its proving that nobody obeys it. Are they saying if we all sign a petition to raise the speed limits, they will change? I don't think so.

It also shows something that I've thought about before, that you should always let a faster car pass you. You shouldn't be able to travel side by side with a car doing the exact same speed as you. How another drives isn't your business, but you should let them pass.

Keeping left on a freeway/motorway with three or more lanes really needs to be spelt out, merely stating 'keep-left' doesn't cut it, too many people consider the middle lane/s as 'the' left lane. ONLY NSW teaches this aspect correctly in its driver manual. NO US state does, unlike NSW and EU!

I create a rolling roadblock everyday on my way to work. There is a section that I have to drive past that is speedlimited to 25mph. I used to go past there and get overtaken by people doing upto 40mph as we go past the school zone. So, now when I have the work F-650 I will drive that thing straight down the middle of both lanes.

And to think when I was driving a Suburban in the USA I was extremely concious of how much of the road I was taking up. Might as well have been on a moped in comparison the F-650.

that was a very good point that video made, speed limits are a joke sometimes, i know on the m1, here in brissy, there is a section where you just go for it, every driver in the state goes nuts here, it's the stretch between srpingwood upto holland park, aka the marshal road turn off, heading north bound, if you do 100kmph there you get tooted, nudged and abused, it dont mater which lane yoru in, be it the 2 lanes or the t2 lane, once for a laught i did the speed the other cars were doin, 124kmph, and i was sitting infront of a cop car, he was doin the exact same, it makes me wonder.

oh well, end of my rant for the day

    cheers

They're a pack of Whinging pricks! They're just telling people what they already know. I wonder what triggered the bitch session. We need the European set up with graduated speed limits' but over here there is always some dick with a caravan in the inside lane doing 80km in a 110 zone. I'm being a bit harsh here, so I'd better stop my bitching.

I think there is a law that if you are towing a caravan you arent allowed to go above a certain speed so maybe he was doing the right thing.

I reckon the speed limits should be raised. Cars are alot more powerfull, larger and safer than cars from 20 years ago.

EDIT: these assholes could have caused major accidents doing this shit.

Higher speed limits would be cool (we'd all get there 5 minutes quicker.. it adds up people!) but it's not a good thing to have these high speeds when there's still nana's driving around with Corollas and whatever that can barely hit 120.. wouldn't be a good thing I reckon.. they'd probably get abused and road raged

You DON'T increase speed limits to save time, but yes, that happens a little bit and this all adds up in productivity over a year etc and so on . . .

You raise a limit to DIVORCE traffic.

A perceived too low limit, on say a freeway merely 'marries' it. Marriage is hell in relation to roads and transport.

why do yanks always dramatise everything???.

in regards to speed limits, some of them are so low because of one idiot.
like here is sa someone died on the sothern expressway. they decreased the speed limit down to 80 (from 100). the thing is the only reason she died was because she did not have a seat belt on. go figger

LOL they pissed off a lot of people doing that shit, i was waiting for the gun to be brandished out of one of those cars that over took em on the shoulder. But it's true why have a speed limit if no one follows it. I hate it when people overtake me clearly doing over the speed limit, i just wanna jump in front of em and make em slow down . Road rage to the max!. Peace and drive safely people.

its better to drive at the speed limit, i don't always and i got booked doing 99km/h in a 80km/h zone and i lost 3 points, and plus i'm on my P's, so that was a costly mistake that i learnt. If people tailgate me i just keep up my speed and if they don't overtake me and they are just sitting there i turn on my rear fog light on my excel and they normaly back off then. haha nothing like a rear fog light to blind the bastards.

it's ridicolous the speed people here go. In another thread here I commented how it is acceptable to do 10-15mph over the limit. How acceptable you ask? Well, thats the speed the police do. In Arizona the speed limit on some freeways is 85mph so it's not uncommon to drive at 100mph and net get fined
