Is it possible to love your car too much?

This is a car forum.. We all love our cars here.. Is it possible to love it too much?

I have a story which sounds reasonable to me, but not to my girlfriend or my mates..

I receive a phone call from my girlfriend, the day after I'd spent HOURS properly waxing every square milimetre of my car.. It finished up like a mirror.. It was unbelievably shiny.. I could read the writing of 5 a cent coin of it..

Look at My Ride, shinier then that.. I get a call telling me that her house is empty and to make best use of it.. But the weather forecase said it was going to rain and we'd already had a few light showers..

Does refusing such an offer because of my car mean that I love my car too much and that I'm obsessed with it?

How many people here in my situation would have put the event off?

shounak i'm amazed at the crap u come up with...but good point, i know a bloke that cleans car yard cars and he got a nice new magna with a neat body kit and all the gear (i must admit it was bloody nice) he cleaned it so much that somehow the ecu stuffed up from water leakage, lol, he loved it so much it died from it...well not really, it was ok once it dried...

It's not only the car being dirty (which was a big part), it was also the hours I spent doing it..

A light shower is nothing. You can always re-chamois the car afterwards. Its going to get dirty again anyway. Which is more than I can say for you, because unless she's a nympho of some sort, she'll be withholding for a while I'd say.

I do the same sorta thing all the time. I wax mine every 2nd week and wont drive it anywhere all weekend in case it rains! My GF always spews at me cos of the amount of time I spend on my "other girl". We end up driving round in her car on the wkends when I wax mine, and she just doesnt get it!

Finally someone who understands!! How this:

I pay for long term under-cover parking up the road from where I work and walk for 12 minutes from the car to work every day! My colleagues think Im nuts but to me its well worth it - just something Im passionate about...

Disagree.. Males hold out better.. Spend an hour warming her up and see who holds out better.. I guarantee she'll crack before you, if you do things right..

Plus, everyone knows the key to having the right attitude in any successful relationship is having a backup plan, even if you never use it..
