Hey guys has any one ever gave a WRX a run ie late 90's or the bug eye style I haven't just wondered how those turbo 4 wheel rally machines go compared to the v8 muscle of Australia and the v6 vengence.

I find wrx owners to be different and sometimes thinking there unbeatable is this true or only fiction?

had a play at 100k's with one down the highway, just back and forth, he had some go, 99 model, i couldve had him easily, but didnt want to exceed 115-120.

They arent that fast, but I wouldnt believe anyone in a stock commo - especially a 6 would be able to take one until you show it to me. Theyre quick.

Mate of mine has an MY99(I dunno, 99 WRX) I'm pretty sure all he's upgraded is fuel, turbo, intercooler and minor engine work, very minor.
He also now has a VZ SV6 with the 190Alloytech 6
WRX Absolutely cains it, start middle and finish just gone compared to the VZ.
Ya gotta take into account VZ weighs about 650 more (WRX is 1000 exactly), WRX is 4WD 6 speed manual (VZ is RWD 6?spd auto), WRX has 210 at the flywheel and the VZ obviously has 190.
It's strange though, he kicks ass in the WRX while his wife drives the VZ, but his wife absolutely slaughters his ass when they swap, I mean she does a bloody shmick shift job compared to him. (WRX is technically her car)

I thought MY99's were still 5 speed manuals??
For those mods the car should make more power then that!.
The SV6 has a 5 speed auto, not a 6.

My mate has a stock VX SS, he claims he can only just keep up with them at drags..

The WRX's take off heaps better. But once they get going, that's when the SS starts kicking in and getting ahead..

im 100% sure its not a 6 spd auto, that being cos they arent in the vz(yet).
6 spd manual yes.

I love being beside a lame assed **** driven WRX that blows off at 600 rpm. they give it to it then watch the SS launch past them, needless to say they dont go past me again. Its even better since ive almost quietened down my exhaust to standard.

What sort of exhaust do you have? Is it the standard one? Or is it one similar to standard? How has it affected your tune?

I wanna do the exhaust, so that it flows freely, but don't want it much louder than standard.

Full Defilipo system, running an extra muffler each side, caused a power change of 3 kw down at the wheels. Its still loud, but only once it hits into cam range of about 2500 on wards. When i say loud, its grunty loud, not 6 cylinder with cannon shit loud.
