Cool My Road Trip!! In a BA XR6T

Alrighty then, Starting saturday i will be flying down to adelaide to help a mate and his wife drive a XR6T back to the goldcoast. Never driven one but should be fun its got leather seats and sunroof etc etc but my question to everyone is - Have you driven one for longer periods of time and was it comphy? I have driven early model falcons (au, ef, el) and the seats werent as comphy as my VT. Just wanna know what i have gotten myself into. Its a nice looking car and sounds like its got some grunt so should be a fun drive. Cheers for your feed back

Fabz, you are going to love riding in that thing I'm sorry to say. I used to drive a BA XR6 ute for work and it was fantastic. It almost made the 3am calls to go to the back of whoop whoop enjoyable.

haha well, my old boss has a xr6t and loves it to bits, even though it blew 2 turbo's within the first month (factory turbos too) but he drives like a grandpa. his daughter on the other hand, hearing her drive off, well, the turbo deffinitely works now.....

My boss traded his BA XR6 Turbo Ute in on a SSZ Crewman (his wife got pregnant twice in a year so he had no choice). I loved driving that thing. The exceleration was awesome and handling excellent for a ute I reckon. His totally stock Crewman handles like a pig compared to his last ride.

You're in for a lot of fun Fabz. Engine so nice that you wouldn't notice your seats buddy. Seats are just fine by the way. I actually think seats little more firmer and hold you in place better than my VX SS.

If 3 people in car someone in back seat will have reduced leg room due to fords plastic guards and rail surrounds on the seats, front seats are narrow for the cars size, apart from that it's ok.

xr6 t probably the best car ford have made in yrs... they needed a turbo to beat holdens ... any one can bolt on a turbo to a stock v6 even then they got that wrong couldn't make a clutch to match for the typhoon.... oh ford what would can they do next.
    Cheers.

Geez people, he only asked if the seats were comfortable, if he wanted to start a ford bashing thread he would, keep it on topic!

LOL your a funny one considering i have spoke to a non holden car member i have heard a lot more compliment about Holden in quality and conform, not to mention there a lot more commodore who does the wrong thing than the fords or any car brand. As much i driven a ford since i got licenence im still deciding on VX S commodore or the XR6T and after seating in the XR6 it felt great and nothing felt cheap in material and i expect the engine to run very well
