does it hurt when getting a tattoo?.
not really, after about 5 minutes of blinding pain and then passing out it's totally painless..It really depends on where you're getting it done. I've got 3 on my right arm being a celtic knot armband and both my babies names and they didn't hurt, guess having a high pain threshold helps.
i dont have one but... in theory it should hurt alot more on bony areas than on fleshy areas....
nah, doesn't hurt as much as piercing, but it's just the constant pressure that gets annoying..
but when they go over it 3 or 4 times to fill it, then it starts to get painful.
The strangest sensation is when you get one on the back of your neck, it's like having the shivers for 1/2 hr straight.
awesomeness,
good luck with it
lol thats funny.
no it dont hurt getting a tattoo. i was more worried bout wether it would hurt rather than the actual pain, it hurts for like a second but they stop and start all the time so its not that bad... the noise is pretty dodgy tho.

It doesn't hurt at all.. It's a bit of initial discomfort, but that's all..
You get used to it after seconds..
cool, i'm going to get a tattoo 2marra and i wasn't quite sure weither it would hurt or not, but i guess i'll find out, but yeah i'm just getting a symbol on my right arm.
i found it was like a mild "chinese burn" little annoying but not extreame pain
id go back for another one :P
Thats all right, thats ok, I drive a commodore anyway!!!!
whats the average hourly rate for a tattoo? I've seen some that charge by the hour and some just give an overall price for the size of the tat.
It varries so much with the pricing. Depends on how complex it is, colours, ect.Originally Posted by bangers
The worst part about my first one was, its on my right ancle and I had my leg resting on the guys lap, so my leg was at a 90° angle for over an hour.....!
On the ancle didnt really hurt that much. Next two are on the same spot on my left leg and on my forearm.

like said, it all depends on who you know, detail and colouring etc., but expect to pay at least $100 per hour.
Mine was $70 and took about an hour and fifteen minutes.Originally Posted by Matty081

i was quoted 150 for each of my daughters complete names. mind you one of my daughters has a hyphenated first name and a long middle name.
My first was 110 for an hour and a 1/2, and my last was 100 for 1/2 an hour.
two different places, one in launy on in perth.plus one was done by a guy on tour, so he was throwing them out willy nilly. both are solid fill black, first one tribal with a modern twist, other the psychopathic records label.
trying to get the 6 jokers cards made into solid black semi-tribal pieces for a full back scene, but not sure i'm where i'm going to pull the money from to get that done yet.
oh, and i got jipped on the second one so won't be going back there.
vc-brock-commodore did you have one in mind? or just going to browse for something you like?
does anyone know a tattoo place on the sunshine coast that does good tattoos.? cause i don't know where the tattoo places are.
I always wanted a tattoo, everytime i go into get it, i always ask myself if in 10 years i'd still want it. Needless to say i have no tatt's
My cousin got the tattoo artist to draw it on for him in perment texta. He had it on for 2 weeks, was still liking it so got it done for real.

one on my arm only hurt because the tattooist was twisting my arm to do it.
one on my back hurt like all f$$$. across spine and both shoulder blades. sort of went into a trance during, the chick hit a nerve in my shoulder and my arm was going crazy... a "friend" who was with me said I bent a steel chair (but the source is unreliable- I was a 60kg wimp back then).
so yeah, it really depends on where it is and how much pain you can take

I've 6 and i think anybody who say's " Nah they don't hurt a bit" is full of it.
There is a slight pain but it's nothing that you can't handle.
My missus absolutely hates needles but she was able to sit througha full Tattoo
Doesnt really hurt, its just like a chinese burn or when someone brushes your clothes when u have sunburn. It's discomfort, not pain. And a while after they start the area goes numbish anyway
doesnt hurt its just annoying. And when they hit a boney part you feel it, but i wouldnt call it pain. The price is average $100 an hour.(calculated from $110 first, $90 Second $100 after).
With your standard sessions being set at 3 Hours. ALTHOUGH, if they quote you a price up front, and they usually do, then thats what it costs regardless of how long it takes to finish. So if they quote $200, and it takes 6 hours to do, not your problerm what they charge an hour, it will cost you $200.. and the same applies to the flipside.
