Well today at 8:25am approx....i wrote off my Holden Commodre VPSII.
I was involved in a single car High Speed MVA.
The details of the crash arn't imporant and luckly the only thing hurt was my ego and my wallet. No other cars and no passengers. I'm a very lucky boy.
So, i dont have a car and the police said that ill probably get fined(ie..loose licence) as i was over the speed limit...5kms... and my head check was lously. I go to court in 12weeks.
I thank God that i didn't hit anybody else and im perfectly fine.
Please dont litter this thread about stupid comments regarding P platers and speeding. It wasn't the speeding that did this.
So i guess this is goodbye for now JC, my plates have been handed in and i dont think that i will be able to afford a new car for quite some time. As for my manual transmission that im sure some of you know i had coming, itll be back on the truck for sydney sometime tomorrow.
Kind Regards,
aZk.
Goodbye FAV339...
Sorry to hear mate. Gives you a chance to save up for something bigger and better!!
By the way what does MVA stand for?

damn speeding p-platers.... lol
Nah shit work mate, doesnt mean you cant hang around the site. im pretty sure there are many who do that. glad you hear you are ok and that no one else was invloved.
Does insurance help you out at all? Girlfriend copped a fine for "failing to have full control" when she blacked out and ran off the road. also wrote off the car.
Crap happens but we HAVE to bounce back.
unlucky mate, you'll recover, and come back bigger and better.
but theyre gonna get you for 5k over? in a high speed accident, dodgy. would it have made any difference if you were going that 5k slower?
What exactly happened?

and i always ask this... and it may be because i have a few issues.... but do you have any pics?
..ok...
2 lane highway, moist conditions, early morning, high speeds (100/105doesn't matter)
I was in the left lane, needed to get into the left lane to turn right up ahead. Accelerated to get past a car that was next to me, when i did my head check, not as quickly as i should have as it was eairly (for me) and i was, not drowzy, but slow, Looked back around to see the car had slowed down in front of me and i was appraoching FAST! I figured the best bet was to change lanes quickly, my tires slipped out as i moved accross and i hit the gravel and i went spinning back across the other lane into 3 trees.

ouch. unlucky, but lucky at the same time if you know what i mean.
hey man, no crash is ever a good thing.
glad to hear you're ok
good luck wit the court case
and like the others are sayin, you'll be back, bigger than before

Why would you lose your licence if you were only 5km/h over the limit? Did the cops estimate the speed of impact as 105km/h? Or is the "seemingly compulsary to make money" neg driving charge gonna put you over your points limit? If you've got a good driving record and can prove you weren't speeding (hard to prove 105 in a 100 zone) then who knows, maybe you'll get off... but I'm no cop, I'm only guessing.
lol Davo as with any with every other person the keeps claiming abbout the speed and "doesn't matter" his speed was more then likely in excess of 105. No one loses their licence for 5 over unless they only have one point left.
With what happened tho Ray, there would be a string of other offences to go along with it, negligent driving and the like.Originally Posted by 12Voltking

So that we might better learn to pick ourselves up.

I'd Rather Roar Than Whistle
ive gone a couple of k's up the road because i couldnt get in to correct lane to turn (warrnambool+summer traffic=nightmare).
I didnt have to speed or crash.
Ur a lucky boy going of the road at that speed and being able to tell the story, alot of people aren't in the same position.
Too bad about the car - like everyone has said, let it motivate u to come back bigger and better!
I pity those poor suckers on the freeway. Gas, brake, honk. Gas, brake, honk. Honk, honk, punch. Gas, gas gas!
If you're going to Court and not just getting a ticket I'm guessing its because there was no ticket for what you did or the cop felt the need to put you before a Magistrate due to the seriousness. Which one??
Chances are he'll get a neg driving charge no matter what. Thats 3 points gone (in NSW anyway).Originally Posted by 12Voltking
I had an accident about 8 months ago and got a neg driving charge even though there was a problem with the cars steering.
The cops said in a single car accident you are the only one to blame because you must be in control of the vehicle at all times.
So between that and a speeding fine it could easily be 4 points.
Regardless of what really happened, it's his business, in my opinion.
azkwazere, just cos your car's no longer, doesn't mean you have to be, mate. Stick around here anyway! I'm 1 mth into my licence suspension, and I'm still here!
And hopefully, even if it's in the way way way away future, you'll get another..and we'll be cheering when you post up the pics of it!
Cheer up, bud. You walked away with your life, it's something to smile about at the end of a shit day.
