Anyone already had their 15 minutes of fame in their life?
I don't think I have really, but I may have come close.
I was on Radio, TV and twice in Magazines.
Radio and TV were for when I was electrocuted at eleven.
Magazine : Women's Weekly, Took a sickie and headed to Augusta to help with a whale stranding. Unbeknown to me there were four pictures of me in the article and mention of me as I was the only one not wearing a wetsuit as it was winter.
Boss showed me the article about two weeks later and allowed the leave.
Pulled kids from a bus crash in 1985 and had an eight year old , Martha, die in my arms.
Tv reporters turned up at home the next day spouting I was hero and they wanted my story. I told them the parents of the girl were the real heros.
They used this exact line in the story and I told them not to use my name.
I went and met the parents to tell them what Martha had said to me.
I was thanked with a BBQ in my honour at the local Netball Club.
So any genuine stories.

no claims to fame here![]()
nothing as full on as the first post!
My claim to fame is that I was Miss Tiny Tot 1985 for the Endevour Foundation, we raised..I dunno..$10,000 or something-back then it was a fair bit. I was also Miss Hinkler Rose Garden 1988 in Bundaberg, same thing Endevour Foundation. Because of the work of raising funds for organisations like that, I was in the papers about 6 times over that period bewtween '84-88. I gave up my modelling career after winning Miss Hinkler, at the tender age of 7! LOL. I was starting to become a tomboy!! Umm, been interview by Kay McGrath and some bloke in 1984 something to do with a telethon. Think that's it. So, meh, who knows had I stayed on with the endevour foundation stuff I could be a top model right now LMAO yeah right.
....I used to be a contributing short story writer for OzBike magazine....it's merely a simple matter of getting into the mindset that "There are no other and will never be other any real motorcycles than Harley Davidsons, and any other thing you may see with two wheels must be a figment of your imagination...", and writing fiction from that point of view...easy...![]()

I got interviewed by the Channel [V] crew when Frenzal Rhomb played at Umina Beach
I've done nothing as good as the first post (which is amazing) but i been in a few papers for wining shooting comps (givin up now), never a magazine, snuck into a few ads and news reports on tv, lol, the only cool thing i hav done is compering (hosting) three or four review nights and school play things, it might not sound like much but i was a real hero to all the old ladies in town who would harass me in the street about it, and during the last one i did my nose started to bleed midway through introduction for the next act, and it was a particularly long intro, but i managed to stop bleeding all over everything till we got behind the stage, lol, i had to explain to a few ppl after why i was sniffing so much, lol...thats all really...
Need some parts for my VH 253:
Green standard steering wheel...Green lower B-pillar covers.
Green sunglasses holder/lower dash bits...Air-con and assorted engine bay parts.
PM with any info.
I was interviewed on TV twice once while in East Timor, 2 with the write up in regards to "white supremicists in the military". The latter was definatly a laugh.
ummm did a couple of TV ads which aired during the old fighting show "gladiators".
On the news a couple of times during school for various things and sometimes get my thoughts published in 50/50 in the Herald Sun.

i used to be in all sorts of media when i was in my last band...
pretty much every central coast, newcastle and sydney paper did articles and features, with other magazines like drum media always having interviews with us.
our stuff got played on alot of radio stations (not big commercial ones, it wasnt that kind of music) and even in the states on a music cable channel.
we headlined a coupla very large festivals in the local area and played with alot of other well know unsigned metal bands.
thats probably my biggest 15mins of fame....
I was there too. your profile says you're a christian, what church you go to? I used to go to Ettalong baptist years ago. I might know you.Originally Posted by DavidPartay

Won a televised Tenpin tournament with a couple of mates. First prize was 5000 dollars each & a trip to the states. This led to a bit of radio & newspaper locally as we had no channel 10 here.

Was on the news about the hoon laws in southwestern Australia, and appeared in a book written by two American Tourists

then my whole school was on the front page in 1986ish for tidiest school in vic.
my parents organised a john farnham concert in my home town when I was a newborn, and apparently I peed on him.

Don't giver me crap about it, but i was actually quite good.
My next door neighbour started this new business thing and myself and a chick helped promote it, I was only a kid- and I remember the add perfectly, I was still wearing my touch shirt and my face was red as because I just came from running around, and I was wearing some dodgy assed cap that sat a little crooked, but I looked like I was having fun at the time, which is what they were aiming for I guess.
I'm not letting out the business, I was young and I kicked ass at it.
I went to Umina Good News Church for several years until I got fed up with the leadership there, went to Coastlife at Erina for a while, and I'm now going to House of Praise at West Gosford where I've been for a year and a half.Originally Posted by bangers
