Just Commodores Frappr

Hey all,

I've made us an account on Frappr so we can add our own locations onto the map and maximum one photo of your car to the scrolling gallery at the bottom.. the map is now very specific, just follow the instructions in the post directly underneith this one to know how to add exactly where you are or close to it.

That's the address, feel free to add yourself (preferably using your username from here) and (max 1) photo of your ride to the photos section.

THIS IS VERY HELPFUL

Some Helpful Hints:

1. When first trying to add your pin, you will find that the Australian Data is limited to larger towns/cities.
2. You need to add the name of the closest major city to you, and then go back and edit your entry once the pin is in place.
3. In this case Bendigo works [So does Benalla and Shepparton and Melbourne]
4. When you are at the "add yourself to this map" page, make sure you select the "not in the US" link, then type Bendigo [or nearest large town] in to the Location field.
5. Wait a few moments for the list to load from the web site and then it will show you a Selection that says Bendigo, Victoria (Australia) -or whatever town you selected]
6. Select the town from the list.
7. Complete the rest of the fields (such as email and name) then select Add me.
8. It will add Bendigo [Or whichever Town you stipulated]. Your PIN is in the map!!
9. Once your pin is in the map, you can edit your BASIC PROFILE from the Central Ranges LLEN page by following the link on the right had side of the map that says EDIT THIS ENTRY.
10. This will take you to the GROUP profiles page. From here you can select BASIC PROFILE . The basic profile will allow you to edit the pin placement exactly, for instance you may want to move it to Woodend or Kyneton

[*]Use the SATELLITE VIEW to find your exact location. The MAP view has less detail. You can change the scale of the map and drag it around until you find the exact area you need. You can then use the + and - signs to zoom in and out, before click on the spot you want the pin to be.[/LIST][LEFT]Goodluck!

This method is brilliant, the only thing is you'll need to go to Group Profiles and "Delete Post" for Just Commodores (after you update your Basic Profile), after that you just add yourself again and your location should be saved (so you dont need to enter it), then your pin should be where you live or very close!

If you can't get your town (eg Epping), try your region (eg Whittlesea).. if it's not there then just do your closest main city (eg Melbourne).. why I said there might be a lot of people grouped up in main cities

ucwepn I've attatched a picture of the form to add yourself (which is to the right of the map), hopefully you can zoom in on the picture but if not you need to do it in this order (sort of):

1. Name: (username preferably)
2. Email: (if you have a hotmail spam one use that)
3. Click the "Not in the US?" button underneith 'US ZIP'
4. Enter your city into the 'World City' box
5. Pick Male or Female
6. Optional: Enter a Shoutout
7. Optional: Attatch a photo (of your car would be cool)

i'm trying to decide how specific i want to be. switch to satellite and you see my house.

I just realised satellite view can be much more accurate, how do you place the marker on any point on the map? I know the lattitude and longitude if that helps

lol.. I just zoomed in on your.. housing estate (i assume it is) did you deliberately put a marker ON your house?

just saying cause the marker looks a little off centre to craigieburn itself! lol

OK guys I've added a post after my original one explaining how to add your pin to exactly where you want it to be instead of closest city.. now we can all be happy!

Just for security sake and the fact that anyone and everyone is able to see it, I would probably advise against putting the pin on your exact house.. maybe on the street a few houses up or your closest shops

What you need to do is goto "MyFrappr" (at the top) -> "MyProfile" (at the top) -> "Group Profiles" (on the left).

Under "Posted in JC Just Commodores" at the bottom hit "Delete Post".. this will remove you from Just Commodores.. now you just need to go there and add yourself again, and it should work..

Also when you did it on the smaller map (in basic profile) did you hit "Save Marker Location" then hit "Save More Info" ?

my place has no lawn in the rear yard:my: damn- all that effort 'n u cant c it from satellite
looks like my house has just bin built n the scrubbers house has bin rebuilt across the road, after getting vandalised, set on fire, then demolished by housing trust(got a saht sign out front telling evry1 not 2 litter on 'their' land), 'n next doors house looks clean 'n tidy, without the 2metre tall grass in the back yard...
So How old is this???

Picked male but was shown as Gal on the map, fixed now (don't know how though).
No detail for my suburb and Nogen 3, these images must be from around 2000- 2001 as housing estates in my area are not shown on the map. They were developed 5 - 6 years ago.

if you go to the google earth website there is some info about the age of the images. frappr is powered by google earth
