    Default Indicators

I am just wondering how i get into the elite group of drivers who seem to think they are above everyone else and dont have to use indicators, what is with it? So many people now just change lanes, no indicator, turn left from right lanes, no indicator. The biggest people i see doing it seem to be bloody four wheel drives. Have i just missed soemthing that says we dont need to indicate anymore?

When it constantly causes near misses in regards to accidents i will whinge till my hearts content. I have no problem with someone cutting in front of me provided they indicate to give me warning, it pisses me off no end when people cut in front of you without indicating, then give you an earful for not allowing them to move over.

Is there no end to the amount of morons who are given drivers licenses? Indicating is important, if you don't think so then you are clearly one of the aformentioned morons. I've lost count of the amount of idiots I've seen turning right on roundabouts without indicating, this afternoon I would have t-boned a minivan doing that if I hadn't been paying attention to the line he was taking.

    You asked for it!

Lets see, driven by mothers doped up on valium who are oblivious to other road users.

Here in SA most only go off road once at year at Oakbank (the horse racing thingy held once a year in the hills).

They are dangerous in accidents because of their size.

Why do they need giant bull bars on the front for city driving?

Why must every family think they have to own one these days, what's wrong with Billy and Mary sitting in the back of a sedan or wagon?

I hate them, I really do, I think I should have a permit to take out by any means any 4WD I come across

    How was that for starters?

i'll admit i don't use an indicator as often as i probably should.

but by the same token i don't seem to have many near misses with other people not using theirs.

i have more near misses with people using theirs at the last minute or as a "i've got my indicator on so i now have right of way no matter what"

    hmm i'm with greengopher here...
i dont use the indicator enough, however i only dont use it when i'm positive there is no point in using it, and yes i know you can never be absolutely sure about anything when your driving...
i will use it all the time however when on a freeway, when turning into a street

This may be true... but how many near misses are you causing behind you?

Now i know DAMN well you all know exactly how to use your indicators - you would not have a licence otherwise, it's just pure laziness the prevents it's use.

I'll admit that it's quite easy in most cases to see what a driver is about to do by their car's "body language kinda thing", thats why I don't have near misses much either, I'm watching what everyone else on the road is doing with an attention that borders on paranoid. And it's because of lazy drivers like you that I have to do so. Wouldn't it be so much easier to just use your indicators? Plus you'd be abiding by the law, which as a resident of this country is kinda an obligation for you. Last minute indicators shit me as well, whats even worse is that every now and then I realise I've just done it myself. Irritates me greatly, but I'm getting better. Oooh and the ones who chuck on the indicator and just pull on over like they own the road, bad when it happens to you, but kinda funny when you see a semi do it to a magna who just overtook you at half the speed of light. :-) "Karma dude, Karma"

in qld minux, indicators are a factory fitted item, how ever, usage is truly optional. i hear ya champ, see it happen everyday, the 4wd users, drive me mad

I've thought about it at times, but I really like my car the way it is, and insurance companies shit me even more than people who cut me off.

yeah I had one today. you know those trucks used to carry compacting bins? one of those bastards cut across a solid line without indicating, and I had to jump on the brakes in a work car (landcruiser ute - it's a mine car sashyre, play nice) and then he has the balls to abuse me???
oh, and I think in QLD you don't need to ever learn how to use indicators, coz no-one uses them
