hey guys n gals.... i probably sound stupid, but i just bought a usb lead for my work fone started to install and it said i wont work unless i upgrade my xp server pack???

is there a website or something??

www.microsoftupdate.com You need Service Pack 2 for Windows, it will take a while to download especially if you only have dial up. I think what fitzy meant was that Harvey Norman have it on disk for free, but you would have to check on that.

Yeah SP2 is free, as are all updates available from Windows Update. For a single user the download is around 80MB but if you want to be able to download the file and burn to CD for storage then you're looking at 250MB for the full file. If you can't download it, try a local computer shop, they should be able to cut you a copy for the cost of a blank CD, if not then they're bastards.

i went to Microsoft site and they posted a SP2 CD to me all free... post was free too... came from Japan in about 1 week... that was over 6 months ago..
