yesterday i saw a black falcon (BA) cruising from sutherland to bankstown(nsw) so look out for it..
but the weird thing was they were trying to dress it up a bit im pretty sure it was a typhoon.. and it had a carbon fibre bonnet...
now the thing here is i have always been told there illegal and have heard storys of people been defected for them.
so if anyone has anyideas of wats goin on here would be appriciated
how do you know its an undercover police car?
Could simply be his/her own car on their way to or from work
the other day i saw a normal blue VZ SV6, normal SV6 rims body kit etc. and it was an undercover job [ was lit up like a christmas tree after pullign someone over in front of work
attn Über geeks, i play Second life. Patrio Graysmark.
I saw a purple BA cop car with a winnie the pooh rear window cover, one of the suction cup ones on the inside..
How do I know it's a cop car.. It had some poor bastard pulled over outside Waverley Gardens..
I saw the same car with another car pulled over on Wellington Road..
Now that's sneaky..
I saw a cop in an '89 Red Camry outside the cop shop. He was in full uniform with the hat..
My mate and me were like shit, that's a weird under cover cop car and it was 500metres from the cop shop..
It occurred to us he was most likely on his way home from work.. Took a few minutes, but it clicked..
no one can tell you what to make a bonnet out of. there is no reason it can't be carbon fibre. make it out of tiles if you like, as long as there are no dangerous protrusions to injure drunk pedestrians.Originally Posted by naf33n
carbon fibre im pretty sure wont crumple like a steel bonnet in a headon, and could go though the windscreen chopping your head off.
i withdraw my last post. you're probably right. ADR 73 for crash protection would include the bonnet.
you can still use carbon fibre but you might need to prove compliance with the ADR. the test only costs about $80,000![]()

but plastic and fibreglass do the same, they've been used in body panels for decades. there's no rule banning carbon fibre i've ever heard of.
There WAS a FPV GT-P running around in Nowra not long ago (Since been moved on) which was a fully optioned GT-P, had an O&E sticker on the back window and all. It was undercover (I know this after speaking with people who got pulled over by it for dragging)
Wollongong has a Red Exec ute us an undercover, and also a white falcon of some sort (The XR6T I think it is)
yeah we got a dumped vt v6 that drives around dragging p platers and then pulls them over.

In Adelaide theres a blue wrx, done up and driven by 2 chicks and thats an undercover cop car. They appear to try and drag ppl from traffic lights and then they pull them over.

It's quite funny, those older cars being used by the police, are NOT actual police cars.
Strange, but true, they're actual car enthusiasts cars that have been impounded.
A mate was in Sydney on a friday night, and a friend of his lost his car for doing a few "stupid" things. A very nice RX3 too.
The next night, he was riding as passenger in my mates car, watching the "runs" until he spotted HIS car with two guys sitting in it. Next thing everyone knows he's jumping through the drivers window belting the guy sitting in it (Who's a cop)
This all went to court, the guy had his car returned straight away, no impound fee, all charges of assault and his "illicit driving" removed.
The cops HAVE to run in current model cars, it's law.
why should they be able to ticket you if they draged you as well...or does the rules not aply to em!

a mate of mine had an undercover cop car just the usual VY driving behind him at night on a darkroad tailgating him and just making him drive a little bit faster once he got him to 90Ks pulled him up for 90 in a 60 zone.

I would be callin entrapment if that happened to me being pressured by a cop into doing something, especially a drag
But i have never seen or heard of these cars, the rex and the VT in adelaide, but im gunna keep an eye out now
dont know if they can do it or not but they still do. i dont think they actually do anything to entice it. i think they just get around in this dumped vt and people try and race it they sit back and wait for them to wheelspin or speed. and bust em.Originally Posted by BOGANV8
