    Cool Running Late

On an August morning in 1978, French filmmaker Claude Lelouch mounted a gyro-stabilized camera to the bumper of a Ferrari 275 GTB and had a friend, a professional Formula 1 racer, drive at breakneck speed through the heart of Paris. The film was limited for technical reasons to 10 minutes; the course was from Porte Dauphine, through the Louvre, to the Basilica of Sacre Coeur.

No streets were closed, for Lelouch was unable to obtain a permit.

The driver completed the course in about 9 minutes, reaching nearly 140 MPH in some stretches. The footage reveals him running real red lights, nearly hitting real pedestrians, and driving the wrong way up real one-way streets.

Upon showing the film in public for the first time, Lelouch was arrested. He has never revealed the identity of the driver, and the film went underground until a DVD release a few years ago.

1978 or in 2006 I reckon it was and still is a great piece of driving and as impressive now as it was back then.

Interesting, very foolish but good driving.
I love the way he picks a line but loses the tail so takes another direction a few times in the film. Looks like he collected a few birds as well.
Should have had the microphone mounted at the back for a better sound.
I wonder if they actually charged him.

That was nuts, getaway from stockholm are ok but i'd say for the age of that footage they should be employing that film maker for the stockholm movies.

ghost rider is crazy - popping wheelstands at 300km/h and stuff. I love when he finds a cop car, does a massive burnout in front of them, and speeds away. I wonder if he's still alive? Getaway in stockholm is an awesome watch...

Gotta love the clips in the ghostrider movies where he toys with the volvo cop cars, take off flat chat on the back wheel, and then slow down and wait for them, and do it again, or the clips of the turbo hyabusa, that thing is mental

One of my favourite bits of the ghostrider series is the recent one where he dresses up as a cop on a K5 GSXR and chases other bikes and that M3 coupe... they were sh**ing themselves!
