Darwin is on a cyclone warning, with a slight breeze, okay, gales expected in the next 24-48 hours. It's rumoured to be one of the nastiest cyclones in known australian history. So far it hasn't really affected any towns (that i've heard, but then news took a while to get out about tracy) but it is predicted to head towards darwin.

i suppose the perfect weather for the 5 or 6 months after this makes up for it.

Oh Monica will you behave.
it looks like we will miss the main bit, but we'll still get some good wind. jabiru on the other hand copped it big time. i've got a mate over there, and haven't heard from him. i'm guessing he's pretty busy or the phones are out.

a mate of mines dad has been up there fishing for 2 weeks. they have caught fugg all cos of all the water![]()
Hehe imagine how much the shops made i couldn't even get a gas bottle filled yesterday for about 3hrs. I wish i owned a Bread/Battery/Grog/Water shop before cyclones.
no no no no no no......no
my brother lives out at jabiru !! he & his missus have been down at tassie for the last 2 weeks. guess they picked a good time to go there !!! ahhh well the crocs will love it. with all the water you guys have been getting they can just about swim anywhere in the N.T.......
I think Darwin is gonna be okay!! I am VERY glad. My lease on the apartment expired two weeks ago, and i still haven't found a half decent unit that I can afford, so I have been living in my old caravan out the back of a mates block! I'm not sure it would survive too well hehe. I would be cut if I lost it, I paid 15k for it, only half of it is paid off, and it is uninsured... I suppose I better go insure it sometime this week incase the bastard turns around!
My aviation company had to help evacuate everyone from the islands in Northern Arnhemland yesterday. When we were flying over, we could actually see the cyclone about 10nm from us.... very, very scary. We managed to get the last of our planes out 40mins before she hit. Taking off in 40kt winds is FUN!
Looks like i spent 18 hours organzing for all of our planes to head to Tindal yesterday for nothing!!!
it's changed direction and is coming straight for us. but it is only a category 1. for now
