Nope.. Just buy the normal ones recommended for your car..

The plugs will last longer, but I prefer changing the plugs more often..

I have them in my car atm. I didnt feel any difference (I did read an article where they picked up around 2kw on the dyno with them) but they dont seem to need to be changed as often.
Personally if you can get them cheap or afford it, then go for em. If not standards will do.

if you want better spark and performance get the bosch super fours. they have 4 prongs off the tip instead of one so it gets a better burn in the cylinder.

U can trim the earth electrode 2 expose the centre electrode, which opens up the flame front n gets better combustion in the chamber. I seen some info on an american website.A m8 told us about it coz u cant just put shimmed washers on 5 litres to position the sparky in the right possie.

If you are tossing up between the two, go Iridium for sure. I've only heard great things about them (from friends and customers). Bosch are crap

NGK plugs (if you're going standard) are the best. Platinum plugs aren't worth the $20 - $30 each. They should only be put in the new cars they are designed for. Iridium plugs should only be used when you can't afford platinum. not worth the extra bucks IMO, they do last twice as long as standard but are 4 times the price. If you want better spark make sure your leads are not touching to start with as the charge can 'leak' between leads. Then put those bosch fours in, they are meant to be REALLY GOOD. Yes the standard bosch are crap but the super fours are meant to be good. they are in the process of making every plug type in a bosch four.

Another vote for NGK standard here. I was under the impression long life platinum plugs were aimed at vehicles where it's a real bitch to change the plugs like some import cars etc. For those of us with engines where changing plugs is a 5 minute job, I wouldn't bother -- especially if you need to buy 8 of the little buggers!

how is it a better burn? the spark still follows the path of least resistance.
